BSB: Dawgs Begin 13-Game Homestand This Afternoon

After playing six of its first 10 games of the season on the road, nationally-ranked Georgia begins a 13-game homestand Friday at 3 pm.
The Bulldogs (9-1) open with a four-game series against Florida Gulf Coast (4-4). This past Wednesday, Georgia used a pair of home runs and 7.2 scoreless innings from its bullpen to erase an early deficit and post a 7-3 road win over Georgia State (6-2). Meanwhile in Coral Gables, Fla., the Eagles fell 14-6 to Miami. The Bulldogs are a consensus top 10 squad in this week’s rankings as they are in year two of the Wes Johnson era.

Points To Ponder On The 2025 Bulldogs
*Twelve different position players have started a game for the Bulldogs with five starting all 10 this season: Slate Alford, Kolby Branch, Robbie Burnett, Nolan McCarthy and Tre Phelps.
*Twenty pitchers have seen action, seven have at least one win, and the innings leader is junior Leighton Finley (1-0, 1.00 ERA) with nine.
*Four Bulldogs have a save: Brian Curley, Matthew Hoskins, DJ Radtke and Jordan Stephens.
*The Bulldogs began the game against UIC on Feb. 23 with a team cycle. Ryan Black led off with a single; Slate Alford smashed a double; Robbie Burnett followed with a two-run game-tying triple; and Daniel Jackson cranked a two-run home run for a 4-2 lead in an eventual 17-3 rout.
*Twice this season, the bullpen has provided 7.2 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit in a game. The first time came in a 6-2 road loss to UNCW on Feb. 16 and then again in a 7-3 road win over Ga. State on Feb. 26.
