T/F: Dawgs Have Big Day in Clemson

Georgia tallied an impressive 11 event wins and 14 improvements to the school’s all-time top-10 list to open the indoor season at the Clemson Invite in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday.
Fast Facts
- Out of the 14 improvements made to Georgia’s record book tonight, six of those adjustments were by freshmen.
- Freshman Jonathan Simms earned an event win during his collegiate debut in the men’s 400-meter dash. Simms’s facility record mark of 44.62 earned him an impressive 2026 World Lead in the event and a place in indoor track and field history as the fourth-fastest 400-meter dash indoors. Simm’s mark ranks second in Georgia track history indoors behind NCAA Champion, Christopher Morales-Williams.
- Graduate transfer Vimbayi Maisvorewa continued the Bulldogs’ dominance in the 400-meter dash on the women’s side, capturing the event win with a 52.44 finish. Maisvorewa’s mark now leads the NCAA and ranks fifth in the Georgia record book indoors.
- Graduate Transfer Kimani Jack also had success in his Bulldog debut with an event win in the men’s high jump at 2.25m/7-4.50. Jack’s leap leads the NCAA and ranks fourth in program history indoors.
- Back on the track, women’s 4×400-meter relay squads took the top two spots with the A team comprised of Maisvorewa, graduate transfer Shaquena Foote and sophomores Michelle Smith and Sole Frederick. The quartet crossed the line at 3:28.16 to set an NCAA lead and move to second in school history indoors. The B relay team proved impressive as well with a 3:28.40 finish, due to the efforts of graduate transfer Chloe Fair, senior Dejanea Oakley and freshmen Skylar Brazzell and Tianna Springer. The B relay from today’s meet ranks third in Georgia history indoors and currently sits at second in the NCAA.
- Both the men and women contributed historic performances in the 300-meter dash. Oakley started the action with a career-best finish of 35.94 for first-place, which ranks as the third-best performance in collegiate history in the event. Freshman Sidi Njie followed Oakley’s effort with a 32.10 win in his collegiate debut, ranking his performance second in collegiate history.
- Freshman Le’Ezra Brown continued the trend of debut success with a runner-up finish in the men’s 60-meter hurdles finals at 7.68. That mark ranks third in the 2026 world rankings, tied for second in the NCAA and second in Georgia track history indoors.
- On the women’s side of the 60-meter hurdles, Georgia found triple the success. Freshmen Madeline Cooper and Chelsi Williams both clocked their best times in the prelims. Cooper’s best effort was 8.10, moving her to fifth on the Georgia indoor top list and third in the current NCAA standings.
