Key Quotes:
Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson
On the game and what it means…
“ We started at Athens Academy, practiced there in the fall. I don’t mean that negatively. We didn’t start playing on our field until January 24th. We’ve got the third hardest SEC schedule inside the league. I’m very proud of our guys. It takes a lot of resilience. Having 18 wins in this league is really, really hard. It doesn’t happen every year and when you get there it’s good. “
#16 Kolten Smith | Jr. | RHP
On his mindset coming out of the bullpen versus starting…
“I just try to keep the same mindset, and at the end of the day, the job’s the same: to get 27 outs. I try to get as many as I can and then let the next guy go.”
# 20 Ryland Zaborowski | Sr. | INF/OF
On returning to action
“Mentally it was tough, just staying with my process, staying with my stretching routine and staying with my breathing work. Just being able to do the things that I can do really helped my recovery. Just being able to go out and take fly balls. It was huge from a mentality standpoint, still being able to do some things and not being able to do some things. Just being around the guys was huge for me.”

KEY QUOTES
Head Coach Tony Baldwin
On Saturday’s game…
“I’m proud of the way we came out and from start to finish competed. That was the goal: to continue to be resilient and relentless from start to finish. I thought Lyndi [Rae Davis] was huge today at the plate. She got us off to a good start there in the first inning, then had the big home run in the last inning to keep the momentum on our side. I thought Randi [Roelling] really buckled down and made pitches when she needed to. And ultimately, defensively, between Randi and our defense, we minimized their damage. We weren’t perfect on the defensive side, but I thought we made some big plays, and Randi pitched her best when she needed it. She’s such a competitor. Ultimately, I thought the difference for her today was her changeup. She was throwing the changeup for a strike, and that forced them to try and manage more speeds. When she can do that, she’s pretty tough to beat.”
