No. 5 Georgia defeats Mississippi State 41-21 in Davis Wade Stadium, marking Georgia’s 47th straight win against an unranked opponent. 

Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor scored the game’s opening touchdown with a 4-yard touchdown rush. 

The Maroon Bulldogs’ starting quarterback Blake Shapen fumbled in Georgia territory, setting up Stockton and the Bulldogs for a Chauncey Bowens touchdown to take a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter. Oscar Delp and Zachariah Branch both found the end zone en route to Georgia’s 24-7 halftime advantage. 

Georgia piled onto their lead with a 59-yard touchdown rush from Nate Frazier and a 64-yard touchdown by wide receiver Noah Thomas for a 38-7 lead. Frazier and Thomas both led their respective positions in yards. 

Taylor rushed for two touchdowns in the second half, tallying 53 yards on the ground and 87 yards through the air. 

Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton finished the game with 264 passing yards and three touchdowns, marking one of his best performances this season.
