According to multiple sources and per Towers high school football coach Brian Montgomery, Georgia has flipped class of 2017 defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt from the University of South Carolina.
Wyatt is a 6 foot 4 and 285 lbs prospect out of Decatur, GA where he plays at TE and on the defensive line for the Towers varsity high school football team. His commitment gives Georgia a total of 15 for the 2017 class. The senior Titans’ big man had verbally committed to South Carolina back in June and then attended a camp at UGA on July 18th where he had a good workout and visit with the Bulldawg’s coaching staff.
Rated as a consensus 3-star prospect at DT by 247, ESPN, Rivals and Scout, Devonte Wyatt is a naturally gifted athlete who has a lot of potential and upside. He displays quickness off the snap of the ball and good lateral movement along the line of scrimmage, and he has the speed to close quickly on the ball carrier.
In addition to football, Wyatt also competes on the Titans’ varsity track team in the discus, shot put and 100 meter.
Welcome DW! With those God Given tools and the coaching you will receive, the sky is the limit!
HUDL and a couple of other sites list him at running the 40 in 4.60. My guess is that is an unofficial time. Regardless, he has some quicks for a big man.
He runs well for a big man, what is his 40?
