Family: I am married to Jason Eichholz. We met at UGA, and we have three girls, Tempe (8), Eadie (5), Annie Rowe (3), and our sweet lab Lola. 

Hometown: Austin, Texas (I almost went to UT, but once I stepped foot in Athens, I didn’t look back!)

Current Town: Savannah, Georgia

What Years at UGA: 2007-2012

School/Degree: BA in Graphic Design

Profession: I am the co-founder and chief creative officer of Weezie Towels. A graphic designer by trade, I started it with one of my best friends, Lindsey Johnson, in 2018, and I oversee all of the creative aspects of the business while she handles all the numbers.  

Book: Always the one I just finished, I Regret Almost Everything by Keith McNally (1)– it’s a biography by the founder of famous NY Eateries like Pastis, Balthazar, which were at their height when I lived in NYC. It was so interesting hearing about how he got started and kind of fell into the restaurant business. I love hearing about other business owners’ twists and turns, especially from someone who never thought she would own a towel company.

Magazine: Veranda, House Beautiful, Frederic, Cabana.

Podcast: Rebecca Minkoff’s Superwomen. Another reminder that there’s no one right path to building something great – and that the women doing it are endlessly inspiring – true superwomen! 

Blog: Lately, I’ve been spending lots of time on Substack, both sharing and consuming. I’ve found it to be one of the best spots to connect with other creatives. I use mine mainly to share what I’m learning and what I’m loving – follow along there!

Instagram: My feed is almost entirely interiors and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s where so many of my color palette ideas begin. More often than not, there’s an interiors image at the heart of every mood board. A few of my favorites: Farrow & Ball (2), The House Upstairs, Parvum Opus.

Brand: Love this question! Westman Atelier (3) has it all: amazing products, beautiful branding, and such a loyal following. Veronica Beard is another favorite. I love their founding story. And La DoubleJ always makes my list. They are just bursting with creativity. 

Fashion designer: I love everything Hunter Bell (4) does! Her silhouettes are timeless and so easy to wear, but she always makes things fresh and fun through pattern. Some of my very favorite pieces in my closet are Hunter Bell! 

Interior designer: Too many to count! All of our past Weezie partners make the list – Peter Dunham, Leah O’Connell and Meg Braff to name a few! I worked with the fabulous Jennie Crosby Hugo of Crosby Interiors out of Jacksonville, Florida on our most recent home renovation project and I love everything she does. 

Chef: Brandon Carter, the chef and owner of our favorite restaurant in Savannah, Common Thread. We find ourselves there all the time, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Everything on the menu is divine.

Historical figure: I count her as one because I never got the chance to meet her – my mom’s mom. I’ve always been told we’re so alike, and I would have loved to know her. She’d be at the top of my dream dinner party guest list.

Describe Athens in five words or less: The. Best. Place. Ever. 

Restaurants and bars: Last Resort, obviously! 

Shops: It’s been so long since I had time to shop there but we used to love Agora Vintage! 

Athens/campus landmark: North Campus, hands down. Something about those oak trees and the old brick buildings still gets me – it’s the prettiest walk on campus and I don’t think that ever gets old.

Memory while in school: A bunch of my friends lived downtown on the same street (Hancock) and we had three collective houses – we used to run in between them at all hours of the day (and night) and it was just the most idyllic, fun college experience. 

Professor/class: Professor Spivey, Graphic Design!

Gameday ritual/plan: Always ending up at Last Resort!

Texas-Style King Ranch Chicken Dip – bonus points if paired with a spicy marg!

Ingredients:

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cups sour cream

1 cups canned Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chiles), drained

1 cups cream of chicken soup

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cups shredded pepper jack cheese

1 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoons ground cumin

0.5 teaspoons garlic powder

2 green onions, sliced, for topping

1 pounds sturdy tortilla chips, for serving
