Douglas County High School 2021 defensive lineman Jonathan Jefferson announced his decision to commit to the University of Georgia on Monday via Twitter.

Jefferson chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, and over 40 other scholarship offers he currently holds.
The junior out of Douglasville, GA visited the Dawgs in Athens last April.

With his commitment, Jefferson gives Georgia four for the 2021 recruiting class currently. He joins 2021 commits David Daniel (athlete out of Woodstock High School, GA), Marlin Dean (defensive tackle out of Elbert County High School, GA), and Brock Vandagriff (quarterback out of Prince Avenue Christian, Bogart, GA).
A talented athlete, the 6-foot-4 and 270 lbs Jefferson plays on both sides of the ball for Tigers out of Douglasville, GA at end on the defensive line and at tight end on offense. In 10 games this past fall, Jefferson recorded 77 stops, 13 of those for a loss, along with 15 quarterback sacks, five quarterback pressures, four forced fumbles to go with three fumble recoveries, four pass breakups, and an interception on defense. On offense, he had three receptions for 27 yards and two touchdowns. Jefferson also plays varsity high school basketball for the Tigers.

247Sports rates Jefferson a four-star prospect, the No. 11 strong-side defensive end, the No. 12 player from the state of Georgia, and one of the top 150 recruits in the country for 2021 currently. ESPN also rates Jefferson a four-star, top-150 defensive end prospect for 2021 while Rivals has him as a four-star defensive tackle.
