For the first time since Matthew Stafford signed with the Dawgs, a No. 1 quarterback has committed to Georgia. Nashville Christian Class of 2026 QB1 Jared Curtis inked his letter of intent to soon wear the silver britches. Head coach Kirby Smart’s recruiting tour doesn’t end there, and his newest quarterback signee is right next to him on the recruiting trail.

Curtis visited Athens last weekend after his signing a few days prior. The No. 1 overall player in the country, according to On3, Jackson Cantwell, an offensive tackle, also visited the Classic City. Cantwell went to Twitter following the weekend, posting a picture of he and Curtis eating dinner at Last Resort in downtown, both sporting Georgia sweatshirts.

The visit seems to have paid off. After spending time with his hopeful future quarterback that he will potentially protect, Cantwell announced he will be announcing his commitment decision TODAY! The five-star tackle is down to four schools in no order: Georgia, Miami, Oregon and Ohio State.

On Mother’s Day, Smart and Co. gained another commitment from four-star safety Jordan Smith. Smith hails from Warner Robins, Georgia where he attended Houston County, the alma mater of former Georgia great quarterback Jake Fromm. Smith is No. 6 safety in the class of 2026, No. 75 overall player and No. 7 player from the state of Georgia. Huge pickup!

Elsewhere on the recruiting trail, the Bulldogs look to be in great shape, hoping for a top-ranked yet again.

The Dawgs have the highest chance to land the No. 1 linebacker in the country Tyler Atkinson out of Grayson. Another great linebacker at LBU might be upon us.

Georgia is second in the running to land the No. 1 running back Savion Hiter as well as the the second best odds to sign the No. 3 running back Derreck Cooper. Just like LBU, RBU is on the hunt to reload.

A newer claim to the position U argument is at the tight end position. With legends like Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington succeeding in the league and current stars Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie making significant impacts on the field, Georgia is becoming a hub for tight ends. All thanks to one of the best assistant coaches in the country Todd hartley, Georgia has the second best odds to land the No. 2 and No. 3 tight ends in the class: Mark Bowman and Kaiden Prothro, respectively.

The Dawgs are in the top three schools to land the No. 3 defensive lineman in the class James Johnson as well. The four-star hails from Cape Coral, Florida at North Fort Myers High School.

To go along with all of these highly-touted prospects, Georgia is in the running for two top ten cornerbacks: Justice Fitzpatrick and Chauncey Kennon.

This 2026 class is filled with talent and Smart has Georgia in a lot of these prospects’ top schools. It should be another strong class for the Bulldogs! Stay tuned!
