What life lessons did you learn while at UGA?
Say “yes” to as many things as possible. But also, that nothing good ever happens after midnight.
What professor did you most admire?
Dr. David Williams. Dr. Williams was the Dean of the Honors College during my time at UGA. He was a consistent source of level headed guidance (which I desperately needed).
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Convincing my wife to marry me.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Henry Ford. I like to make processes more efficient.
Who are your heroes in real life?
My dad, Bill, for teaching me the value of hard work.
My mom, Jenny, showing me how to run a household.
My older brother, Will, for demonstrating that it’s ok to forge your own path.
My 1.5 year old nephew, William, for embracing every day with energy and enthusiasm.
Quote to live by:
“Never say no to adventures” – Ian Fleming
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
An outdoor shower with a cold beer after a day of yard work.
What is your most marked characteristic?
My laugh. Most find it obnoxious. Luckily, my wife finds it endearing.
What do you most value in your friends?
Loyalty and a sense of humor.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Be less neurotic about the house being clean.
Who are your favorite writers?
Ian Fleming because he gave the world James Bond (my favorite movie franchise).
Andre Agassi. His autobiography, Open, is the best sports book ever written.
Fave social media and who to follow:
I’m not a big social media user. I have Twitter (mainly for college sports news). But I do follow Padraig Harrington @padraig_h. He’s a former PGA Tour player that puts out instructional golf videos. He’s great at explaining the basics and his tips have really helped my (still terrible) game.
