After the initial delay of the 2020 season, the University of Georgia soccer program received its schedule to play this fall, according to an announcement by the Southeastern Conference.
The 2020 soccer season consists only of SEC opponents, with four games played at home at the Turner Soccer Complex and four on the road. After the conclusion of the eight-game regular season, all 14 SEC member institutions will travel to the conference tournament in Orange Beach, Ala. The SEC tournament will be double elimination, guaranteeing two games per team, and be held from November 13-22.
“Our team appreciates this opportunity and looks forward to the competitive challenges and high level of play that this all-SEC schedule provides,” Georgia head coach Billy Lesesne said.
The Bulldogs will open the 2020 season with South Carolina at home on Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
The following week, Georgia will travel to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators on Saturday, September 26, before returning home for a match against the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday, October 2.
Georgia is back on the road against Kentucky on Sunday, October 11. The Bulldogs will play Auburn at the Turner Soccer Complex on Sunday, October 18.
UGA will be on the road the next two games at Vanderbilt (Oct. 25) and Ole Miss (Oct. 31), before a final home match against Mizzou on Friday, November 6.
The 2020 season will be the sixth under head coach Billy Lesesne. Georgia finished 8-7-4 overall and 4-4-3 in SEC play a season ago. The Bulldogs finished the regular season on a five-game unbeaten streak and punched its ticket to the SEC Tournament after a win over Florida.
