ATHENS REGIONAL
The Bulldogs took the hard way to the NCAA Regional title. After winning the first game 6-1, the Bulldogs lost a 14-inning marathon game 2-1 against Western Kentucky. Following the loss, the Bulldogs needed to defeat North Carolina on Saturday and Western Kentucky twice on Sunday. The Bulldogs did so in dramatic and convincing fashion. Alex Hugo hit a walk-off home run against North Carolina before the Bulldogs out scored the Hilltoppers 29-3 on Sunday.

Since going to the current NCAA Regional format in 2005, there have only been 19 times that a team has come back to win a regional after losing one game. The Bulldogs have done so in each of the last two years. Michigan accomplished the feat last season.
