“We had to take a look in the mirror at ourselves and know that this is the real deal. We have to come ready to play every game and know that no team is backing down”, said Morrison. Both teams came out slow offensively but Morrison put the Dawgs on the board early with a jumper and then nailed a three-pointer. Georgia and Texas A&M were in a constant battle the whole quarter and at the end of one Georgia held a 14-13 lead.

Several key shots were made by the Georgia offense during the second quarter to get Georgia in a rhythm. Sarah Ashlee Barker found her pace and drained a crucial three-pointer for the Dawgs. The Bulldogs went to halftime with a close 25-24 lead.

Georgia started the second half of the game strong with another momentous three-pointer. A powerful effort on both sides of the ball in the third and the Dawgs headed into the fourth ahead 48-37.

Morrison’s seven points in the final quarter helped this Georgia team succeed over Texas A&M.
The Lady Bulldogs start SEC Tournament play Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee.
