Equestrian: Maddy Darst Is SEC Rider of the Month

ATHENS, Ga. — Sophomore Maddy Darst of the Georgia equestrian team has been named the Southeastern Conference Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month for February, the SEC announced Thursday.
 
 
This marks the first honor from the conference office for the Lebanon, Ohio native.
 
 
Darst went undefeated throughout the month of February in Equitation on the Flat, topping her opponents by an average of 13 points. She scored a 91 against Sweet Briar College, marking her career-best score for the event and earning Most Outstanding Performance honors for her ride. She also defeated her counterparts from Auburn and South Carolina, scoring a 79 and 85, respectively.
 
 
Darst and the top-ranked Georgia equestrian team will travel to College Station, Texas to face the third-ranked Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday, March 10 at noon ET. This marks the final regular season meet before the Bulldogs prepare for post-season. The SEC Championship will be held in Blythwood, South Carolina on March 30-31. The NCEA National Championship is set for April 18-21 in Waco, Texas.
