ATHENS, Ga.— The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team will host the No. 5 SMU Mustangs on Friday, March 2 at the UGA Equestrian Complex in its home finale. Competition is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

The meet will serve as Senior Day for Georgia’s 14 seniors.  Georgia will honor the seniors following the meet and thank them for their contributions to the program during their time in the Red and Black. Since joining the team, this group has been crowned SEC Champions twice, and NCEA Reserve National Champions. The class currently has a career record of 45-15.

Georgia holds a 7-1 record heading into this week’s matchup, while the Mustangs are 8-2. Both of SMU’s Hunt Seat squads, Equitation on the Flat and Equitation Over Fences, are ranked No. 1.  Similarly, Georgia holds the top spot in both Western events, Horsemanship and Reining.
