While the Dawgs recently lost Class of 2020 4-Star OG Akinola Ogunbiyi via a “flip” to Texas A&M, the program still currently sits at the #4 spot in Team Class Rankings for the Class of 2020 per 247Sports.com with 14 commitments in total. Offensive line coach Sam Pittman has done a fantastic job in terms of bringing in some of the best talent in the nation to keep the “Great Wall Of Georgia” locked and loaded. A recap and overview of those linemen that are “Committed To The G” in the current recruiting cycle are listed as follows:

1. Class Of 2020 5-Star OT Broderick Jones (6-5, 275 – Lithonia High School – Lithonia, Georgia) – Jones is currently rated the #2 overall offensive tackle and the #3 overall player in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2020 per 247Sports Composite Rankings. Standing in at 6-5 and 275 pounds, Jones has a nice athletic frame and not a great deal of bad weight in it. He has long arms, quick footwork, is physical and blocks well.

2. Class Of 2020 4-Star OT Tate Ratledge (6-6.5, 311 – Darlington High School – Rome, Georgia) – Standing in at 6-6.5 and 311 pounds, Ratledge is currently rated the #38 overall prospect in the nation, the #5 overall offensive tackle prospect, and the #5 overall player in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2020 per 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has exceptional athleticism, mobility, agility, and footwork. Along with these tools he possesses a great deal of brute strength and carries with him some flare and aggressiveness in regards to his blocking. The Darlington offensive tackle is stable in his balance and positioning and he has up to this point proven to be effective on the line whether it be on the fringe or whether positioned on the inside.

Ratledge helped lead the Darlington Tigers to the state quarterfinals last season before they were eliminated by the eventual champions of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (GHSA Region 6-1A). He most recently went on to win the Offensive Line MVP at The Opening’s Atlanta Regionals in late March of 2019 garnering him an invitation to the The Opening Finals. Look for Ratledge to make an immediate impact on the offensive line upon his arrival to Athens. Such is especially true given that the Dawgs are likely to lose a couple of offensive linemen after the conclusion of the upcoming college football season.

3. Class Of 2020 4-Star OT Joshua Braun (6-6, 335 – Suwannee High School – Live Oak, Florida) – Standing in at 6-6 and 335 pounds, the 4-star “Sunshine State” star is currently rated the #25 overall offensive tackle prospect in the country and the #45 overall player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2020 per 247Sports Composite Rankings. Braun already had an ongoing relationship with UGA Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman as the O-Line coach had previously attempted to recruit Braun’s brother while at Arkansas. Coincidentally, his brother is Parker Braun who ended up attending Georgia Tech and is an offensive line member there playing for the Yellow Jackets. Braun has already been recognized as a top player in the state of Florida as he was an All-State selection there in 2017. He was also named a MaxPreps All-American in that same said year. Look for him to make an impact and provide immediate offensive protection upon his arrival in Athens.
