Georgia Football: Day Eight Spring Practice Report – Offense

Today marked day eight of spring practice. We were out there for close to ten minutes. Here are my takeaways from the offensive side of the ball

Quarterbacks:

By far the biggest observation of the day is Field’s struggling under the center. The first rep he took under the center he threw an awful pass. He also fumbled a snap from under the center making it pretty obvious he was uncomfortable. Before you hammer me for dishing some heat on Fields he looked fine for the most part, but clearly has work to do under the center.

Offensive Line:

The offensive line rotation stayed the same today except for one small change. Solomon Kindley was getting work at the left guard position instead of Kendall Baker. Also, Trey Hill was getting work again today at center with the 2s and work at guard.

Receivers:

The receivers have been looking mighty impressive as I mentioned in the quick noted Mecole Hardman has not dropped a single pass in the last two practices I have been to and Jeremiah Holloman is a physical specimen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a lot of attention this season along with Ahkil Crumpton who is always right behind Hardman in pass catching drills.

Running Backs:

For the running backs, Elijah Holyfield was running with the 1s and Prather Hudson with the 2s. They were running ball carrying drills again and Zeus is still in his brace continuing to work and get reps. D’Andre Swift and Brian Herrien are nursing slight injuries but were doing some running drills.

One last note, Freshman Divaad Wilson who tore his ACL earlier this spring was out today viewing practice on crutches.
