Georgia Football Monday Practice Report: Alabama Week

Justin Fields (1)
Justin Fields (1)

Georgia stayed inside the IPF in preparations for Alabama. The intensity was still there, and the coaches had each position working hard. Here are my takeaways from Wednesday’s practice.

Offense Report:

— Wide Receivers worked on ball carrying drills entire viewing period. Ball security is extremely vital Saturday as any kind of turnover could be a death wish.

— Trey Hill still working as the first-team right guard.

— Scout team QB Mason Wood was practicing wearing #13 who happens to be Tua Tagovailoa.

— Cade Mays still not seen at practice. He has been nursing a shoulder injury.

— Justin Fields and Jake Fromm both looked solid. Both worked on the read option today. Fromm’s legs could be a difference maker if he can scramble for one or two first downs Saturday.

Defense Report:

— Netori Johnson still working with defensive line and wearing #72

— A Daquan Hawkins-Muckle sighting today. It appears as if the senior defensive lineman’s career isn’t over just yet.

— Monty Rice (foot) still not seen at practice.

— Robert Beal was seen practicing after leaving the Tech game when he got hit on a targeting call.

— Defensive Backs worked in unison for a majority of practice with wide receivers on stripping the ball and forcing turnovers. There was a lot of emphasis on protecting the football and also creating turnovers.
