The Bulldogs have a tough task ahead of them, as they face their first SEC opponent on the road against the Missouri Tigers.

The Bulldogs are opening up their SEC play this week and Kirby Smart is not taking their SEC foe lightly.

After last week’s performance, Smart clearly understands that any team has a chance to win the game and he will not let his team play as they did in the previous week.

Smart knows how talented each and every team is in the SEC and he does not want to be surprised like he was last Saturday against the Nicholl’s State Colonels.

The talent level of the wide receiving corps for Missouri is one thing that has stood out to Coach Smart and he understands that it will be a fight to not get hit with mismatches in the secondary in this upcoming game.

Smart believes the mismatches that they team could face in terms of this game and the secondary is comparable to what the Bulldogs faced in week one against the North Carolina Tar Heels and he is hoping for a performance that is even better than their performance in that game.

The one player that Smart singled out as being very impressive on the Missouri offense is quarterback Drew Lock.

Lock is coming off a big week, in which he had 450 yards passing, 5 touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Smart is aware of this performance and Lock’s level of talent and he is not allowing his team to take practice lightly in preparation for this outstanding player. This is what Smart had to say concerning the Missouri quarterback Drew Lock

This quarterback has been really impressive… He throws a great deep ball, got great touch, basketball player. He’s a lot better athlete than you give him credit for so this quarterback to me has been really impressive for a guy that I had not seen before.

Kirby Smart is looking to notch his first ever SEC win on the road in a tough environment at Columbia, Missouri. However, the first year head coach is not taking his opponent lightly in any way and is preparing his team for a rigorous road test against an impressive young quarterback.
