[su_spacer size=”40″] ATHENS——University of Georgia redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Josh Cardiello will transfer to UT Chattanooga looking for more playing opportunity according to an announcement Friday by UGA head coach Mark Richt.

“Josh and I have discussed his situation,” said Richt. “He likes Georgia but felt it would be in his best interest to transfer in order to have a better opportunity for playing time. I certainly understand and wish him nothing but the best.”

“I want to thank Coach Richt for everything that he’s done for me,” Cardiello said. “I feel that this is the best situation for me to excel in all aspects of athletics and academics. I wish nothing but the best to everyone at UGA and hope they have a great season.”

Cardiello, a graduate of Buford High School, was redshirted in 2013 and played in one game in 2014.
