Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Bulldawg36 my youngest was due on the date of the first game. I told the doc if he didn’t want a cooler and screaming dawg fans in the room he might want to hurry it along or postpone it a few days lol

That’s a tough one , let’s see…vols, gators, tiger(s) elephants, game hens, That about sums it up for me. There are more that I dislike but those I hate equally.

In addition to doughnut day, it’s enemy hate day. Which enemy, I know, tough question cause we have so many, do we hate the most today?

Greg Poole Brilliant minds think alike. Especially were chocolate cake is concerned. I’ll put my circa 1850 family recipe against all challengers in the chocolate sweepstakes.

Greg Poole Movin on up. To the Eastside. We’ve finally got our piece of the pie.

Lucas Rogers Bulldawg36 Were one to pose a hypothetical question to a fan of the Starkville Stumpjumpers, the response would be along the lines of, “She had a bad ‘tude, and was axin for it.

Bulldawg36 Do you really think Mullen (Jowl Boy) is gonna let that cat go anywhere else?

  8. Bulldawg36

Mississippi st is gonna allow that recruit that beat that woman on the team. MSU is getting desperate as well.

Bulldawg36 on my computer it’s only showing the picture and not the tweet lol

AlphaDawg Greg Poole yeah when it turns into flag football it will be “must grab the the flag with only one hand”

Greg Poole Wow, so the defensive player can’t go high, can’t go low. Literally have a batters box on the QB. Not like some of these are 300lb boys chasing a 200lb slippery QB who can dip and shift in a blink of an eye

Tripping violations will now be extended to ball-carriers, as those carrying the football were previously allowed to be tripped by what could be construed as non-football plays. In the past, a defensive player was allowed to use his leg to trip up a ball-carrier and not be called for a penalty. Ball-carriers will now be protected under the tripping rule applied to all other players.
Blocks below the waist are now only allowed for offensive linemen inside the tackle box. Tight ends lined up next to a tackle were previously allowed to block below the waist but will now be not allowed to do so. In addition, if a player leaves the tackle box, he cannot re-enter the tackle box and perform a block below the waist anymore.
Penalties will now be called on defensive players who are rushing unabated to the quarterback and deliver a forcible hit to the knee area or below. As long as there is no forcible contact to the knee, head or shoulder area, a defensive player is allowed to grab and wrap a quarterback to make a conventional tackle.

    MMCSDAWG Went this morning and that’s gonna do it. Only so many times you can shoot Jim Chaney ;-}

  16. Bulldawg36

Sc will be lucky to win 4 games. I hope we shut the birds out in Columbia. 36-0 would be great!!!

  17. MMCSDAWG

Bulldawg36 It will be GREAT!  It definitely changes your life, but I wouldn’t trade all the riches in the world for my Children!

  18. Bulldawg36

I just hope we win the east! If the fla coach in his first year can win the east than do can Kirby & company

DawgDaddy Greg Poole Why would you want to end the UT/Bama rivalry?? Isn’t that good for us? That’s like an automatic LOSS FOR UT EVERY YEAR!!

Quarterback is the big question on everyone’s mind in Athens entering the season, but I suspect that freshman stud Jacob Eason will take on that starting role at some point this year. Whoever earns the starting job’s primary task will be to turn around and hand the rock off to star backs Nick Chubb, who’s returning from a knee injury, and Sony Michel. Smart should have the defense ready to go on Day 1, and if the Dawgs will run the dang ball, I like them to eclipse their total this year, partially due to talent but more so due to their schedule.
