Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

PatriotVeteran RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole I do believe a very small percentage of kids dream of playing for a particular school and know where they want to go at a younger age. Griffin may be one of those kids.

  2. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Is it me or does Ignont look like Julio Jones

RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole NOT “IF UGA IS HIS DREAM TEAM AND HE’S HAPPY TO PLAY FOR CKS”.      Players that really don’t want to play for a team and just goes through the motions, is not going to remain committed.        However,  once he was offered by CKS, he committed and they both were happy to have him as a 2019 DAWG.      If he’s serious, you will see him going after other talented players from Georgia that WANT TO PLAY FOR UGA and are growing up as UGA DAWGS.    Welcome to Athens.

  4. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole congrats to the young man but 2019 is a lonnggg way away to stay committed

  5. Hobnailboot aka RobG

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG right above the black box that is above the comment box there is a Porsche Cayenne that has been advertised for quite sometime now

  6. rugbydawg79

Hobnailboot aka RobG Ha , I keep looking at it too – a lot of miles poor MPG and expensive to work on

  7. 66DAWGnNC

Hobnailboot aka RobG Greg Poole That’s the look his receiver gets after he threads the needle and the receiver drops the ball. Or, it could be the look the center gets for one of those pre-snap wind breakers.

  8. Greg Poole

Hobnailboot aka RobG I don’t think he was upset – just caught him with a serious face on

  9. Hobnailboot aka RobG

I wonder if they are ever going to sell that Porsche Cayenne…..I mean damn

Lucas Rogers  We lived in Brentwood for 6 years so if you can just get the 2 top RBs in the nation committed, McBride, Ignont, a couple of 5 star DBs, and maybe a few more to round out the class, I’ll come up to Nashville/M’boro and buy you dinner.

  11. Bulldawg36

I bet you drunk a bunch of fluid after yesterday. Glad you didn’t get dehydrated.

  12. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  I did, actually. But there is somewhere one could go almost every day – gotta draw a line at some point.

  13. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  Yep. It is the Rivals Challenge in the Dome – it was in DC last year.

I’m right there with you. Been  Kool-Aid free for a couple of years and I’m not going back on the juice.

  15. Bulldawg36

Jacob Eason…Jake Fromm…Emory Jones…mr Lawerence!!!! Man we would be set for the next 8 years!!! Go dawgs!!!!

  16. Lucas Rogers

I appreciate it, but unfortunately I’ll be back in Murfreesboro then. My sister gets married the 18th and I’m heading back the next day for work!

  17. Avon Barksdale

That is great to hear! I would love to reel in Beal, Big Cat, and Herring! That would be one heck of a pass rush!!!

  18. Bulldawg36

Go Georgia Bulldawgs baby!!!!! Why not us!!!!! It’s time!!!!!! Commit to the G!!!!!!

  19. Reddawg13

Hobnailboot aka RobG 1mandawgpack Greg Poole I made homemade biscuits this morning.

  20. 1mandawgpack

Alright, going to go watch some Euros.  When we moved to England in the summer of 2007, the Euros were on and caused me to love soccer almost as much as I love college football.  Everyone have a great rest of the day and try to stay cool.  I finally got a tech to my house this morning to open my pool and cant’ wait until it’s swim-ready in a couple of days.

  21. 1mandawgpack

Hobnailboot aka RobG 1mandawgpack Greg Poole  Rob, at my age, everything settles in the middle and if you ever saw me, you’d know that I’ve had a biscuit or two.

  22. 1mandawgpack

DawgByte 1mandawgpack Greg Poole  If he was a female, he’d be the type of person my mother warned me about.  She always told me to look at ankles and wrists as an indication of how big the girl would get in her adult life.  He definitely has some thick shins/ankles.

  23. DawgByte

1mandawgpack Greg Poole 1mandawgpack, that’s not a bad approach at all. I’m right there with you. I’m through buying the summer/fall practice hype, because it means absolutely bubkis. The only thing that matters is what they do on the field during a real game.

  24. Hobnailboot aka RobG

PTCDawg Greg Poole Avon Barksdale you say that like there is any others out there

  25. PTCDawg

Greg Poole Avon Barksdale  Seriously? We sit that well with Beal?? I did not realize that and that is awesome!!

I need to spend more time on this site!!! :>)

  26. 1mandawgpack

I’m channeling my inner 36, but we need a big-time commitment soon.  I know the OT is supposed to commit this Wednesday (I think), but it’d be great to get a high-profile RB, LB, etc. to commit to provide some relief in this wasteland of an offseason in which we currently find ourselves.

  27. Greg Poole

1mandawgpack I hear and I’m not predicting what the team will do but Eason is gonna shine.

  28. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole 1mandawgpack  EC, not unlike many on here, I’ve been a UGA fan for so long and have had my heart cut from my chest so many times that I threw all my Kool-Aid out a couple of years ago and am simply waiting, optimistically, to see what transpires in Athens over the next few years.

  29. Greg Poole

1mandawgpack You might as well take a huge slug of the cherry-red ’cause Eason is the real deal.

  30. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Greg Poole Hobnailboot aka RobG RumRunnerDoogie just giving you a hard time

  31. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bansai buckeroo she is only distracting if you are trying to pay attention to anything else

  32. 1mandawgpack

RumRunnerDoogie  I also think that it’s super cool that Eason is out hanging out with the high-profile QB’s (Fromm yesterday, Lawerence today).  He’s a true leader and realizes that his job isn’t to be insecure/petty but instead, to do everything in his power to help improve the program.  He hasn’t played a snap in a real game for us yet and I’m not going to drink all of the Kool-Aid, but it sure appears that we got a great one in Eason as he has all the tools (including the mental aspects of the position and personality to get people to follow him into battle) to be super special.

  33. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie  I hope its Schumann – even though he’s a defensive coach, that guy has some attribute/trait that just draws recruits in.  He is definitely a recruiting machine.

  34. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole  Maybe the closest trailer park.  While every school in the South has its share of sketchy fans, I’m convinced that 95% of UF’s fans never went to school there and represent the local riff-raff who live in every trailer park within a 50 mile radius of G’ville.

  35. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole 1mandawgpack Lucas Rogers  EC, when Joe Burns was in school and playing at Tech, as much as it pained me conversing with and feeding the enemy, I’d buy him dinner periodically as he is a T’ville (and more importantly, TCC) native and as you know, we S. Georgian’s stick together.  Funny that when he made it to the NFL, he never returned the favor and I remind him of that every chance I get now that he’s a big shot running Rising Seniors.

  36. Greg Poole

1mandawgpack I think the staff has been back and forth on him but, right now, it appears they are after him

  37. 1mandawgpack

Greg Poole  I’d love to sign this young man.  What he lacks in height, he more than makes up in athletic ability and sheer determination.  I watched him play a lot last year and he was, by far, the best player on a loaded Archer team.

  38. 1mandawgpack

Lucas Rogers  My daughter plays in a travel softball tournament in Chat. towards the end of the month – if you’re around, I’d be happy to buy a starving college student dinner one night.  I think the tournament is Thursday, June 23 through that Sunday, assuming we make it that far.

  39. Bansai buckeroo

Unbelievable if we could pick up this guy….. We would have to go from running back U to quarterback U….haha

  40. ReedCreekRed

Sorry for the delayed response..got a run in before it’s surface of the sun hot. From the Reed Creek area of Lake Hartwell, aka “The Creek” home to some good folks, good fishing and Swamp Guinea..life is good here.

  41. Lucas Rogers

Not sure if posted or not, but trevor Lawrence was in Athens last night and is there today.

  42. Lucas Rogers

Hey y’all. Sorry I ain’t been on past couple days. In Chatt for a couple weeks and somehow managed to forget to bring laptop lol

  43. ReedCreekRed

Appreciate the warm welcome guys..looking forward to posting from time to time. Yall keep up the awesome work, great platform!!

  44. Greg Poole

ReedCreekRed  Saw him yesterday morning at the CKS 7v7 with McGee and others. I think he is gonna be a Dawg. He just looks very comfortable with the staff, but I don’t have any specific info.

Thanks for joining in the Mad Commenting Asylum.

  45. WalktheDawg Whisky

Hobnailboot aka RobG  Dave got this version of his restaurant started with a Marietta Divorce lawyer named Sam Huff .. Sam has two great places now.. One in East Cobb one out at the AVenues out Dallas Hwy.. Worth the time to try as well.

  46. ReedCreekRed

Long time reader..thank you guys for all the hilarity and great Dawg convos. Any word on what the “major development” btween Webb and UGA?

  47. WalktheDawg Whisky

Hobnailboot aka RobG Franks is not a sitdown place ..carry out only… I live near it.. was referred to it… and found that he was out of Brisket the first two times I went…The guy can cook while Dave Poe has the personality of the Alabama fan that he is….

  48. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Thanks for the tip, the company I work for takes care of the chillers at the First United Methodist Church right there off of the square so I’m there every Friday

  49. WalktheDawg Whisky

DawgDaddy Hobnailboot aka RobG Dave Poe has some fine Brisket and some great Mac/Cheese..but if in that area…cut over to Powder Springs Road to a place called Frank’s Cajun Soul about 2 miles off square..Best Brisket in Marietta…PERIOD.  Love them both….

  50. rugbydawg79

Greg Poole we had this happen at a Rugby Ball one time – after cooking Pig one of the Boys was told to put the axe in the car—and he did !

  51. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Man if we were to have those 4 QBs I’d have no worries for the position for years to come

  52. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Yep me too, I’ll definitely go back. I wish the sauce was just a little tangier and had some molasses in it

  53. DawgDaddy

Hobnailboot aka RobG I always love finding a new Q place, looks like you hit pay dirt with this one.

  54. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Man I stumbled upon some of the best Barbecue Brisket I have ever had at a place in Marrietta called Dave Poe’s. Zagat called it the best in Atlanta in 2010, it’s definitely good brisket, the pulled pork is better than average but I don’t think it’s the best. It’s worth a try, get the collards if you are a fan of greens.

  55. Reddawg13

Good Morning my Bulldog Buddies! Eason, Fromm and Lawrence and maybe Emory Jones to go with the RB’s that Mcgee will get, the O line Pittman will get and the WR’s and TE’s Coley and Beamer will get and Bam! Just Bam! Oh and Fromm will push Eason and that will be good for both!

  56. Hobnailboot aka RobG

One of those rare occasions where a seatbelt may have killed him…..wow

  57. Greg Poole

Hobnailboot aka RobG  Thanks – shooting sports is challenging. Having the right equipment allows you to execute at the right time – kinda like fishing.
