Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Signal Mtn Dawg  Jacoby seems to be unsettled. For a while it was all UGA, then Bama and then on to LSU. I don’t think anyone has a handle on his recruitment right now.

  2. WillieWalden

I was wondering the same two things … Jacoby has always been icing on the cake for me.. With lecount on deck and the kid from Florida in next years class I think we’re good.. I would like to see us grab at least two good d line prospects this year

  3. Signal Mtn Dawg

Greetings All!   Its been a while since I have posted…thought I’d drop in.

Impressed with everything CKS has done so far and I do have expectations to be in the mix this season.

    Recruiting questions:
    1. How are we with Jacoby Stevens?  I thought we had him but I seriously doubt he will commit to UGA
    2.  Is anyone else shocked that we are not getting DL prospects lined up to play for us?  We lost out on some big names last year but we still landed some really good prospects.  This year???

    Hope everyone is doing well!

  4. DawgDaddy

Bulldawg Bob2 I don’t think that list is giving any SECE teams much credit, therefore they slid Arkansas in there before us and UT

  5. DawgDaddy

dsw61 That one guy sitting about 15 rows up on the 50 must really be missing football.  Just sitting there watching grass grow.  haha

  6. Bulldawg36

Good to hear fella. Yeah it got pretty boring , but I was thankful for all the stuff they gave us. Pretty nice people

  7. 66DAWGnNC

Hey rugby. I live about 45 min southeast of Raleigh. Been down west of Lumberton in Red Springs, NC. Winston Salem is about 3 hours or so west of me. I appreciate the offer, but I better hang out at home for a while.

  8. Bulldawg Bob2

Arkansas has some talent at RB, but not a lot of proven talent. Not sure how they landed at 3, especially now that Collins and Williams are gone

  9. rugbydawg79

66DAWGnNC Bulldawg Bob2 Where you at 66 I am in Winston —  always extra room here for BI brothers coming thru

  10. rugbydawg79

Bulldawg Bob2 Great to hear the positive news on your wife Bob –and great to have you back !

  11. 1mandawgpack

Very cool trip but be ready for prices that you’ve likely likely never seen before as it is one of the most expensive cities in the world during normal times and I can only imagine that prices will increase during Olympics.

  12. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgLink  He was busy with track and just getting ready for school and to be healthy to compete for his senior football season. In the end, I think it comes down to a Bama – Georgia battle for him, but nothing is a sure thing in recruiting.

  13. Bulldawg Bob2

Greg Poole  Aye. When UGA stopped playing Clemson on a regular basis as they did through the 60s and 80s and into the early 90s, USCe replaced that rivalry, especially when Spurrier became their HC. Wonder if it will carry the same intensity as it did under Muschamp?

  14. Bulldawg Bob2

For me, it is Auburn and Florida as far as SEC rivalries go.

OOC opponents it would GT followed by Clemson.

  15. Doc R

Bulldawg Bob2 he had the “runs” and had an “accident” on the field, but all is well after a good shower, lol

  16. Bansai buckeroo

My wife kind of shot it down because of the large Olympic crowds.. But I have a little time to work on her…. 🙂

  17. Bulldawg Bob2

He told DawgNation that he would probably make his commitment announcement at the US Army All American game

  18. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 Last night I had a half Vodka and half Gin Martini last night and I found that cured whatever ailed me. One was plenty!

  19. DawgByte

Bansai buckeroo Been there and I love it!!! I’m thinking about going there for the next Rugby World Cup.

  20. bahits

Richmondawg bahits Greg Poole lol, not talking about the deadheads.  Just the sentiment int the phrase “Make America Grateful Again”

we have lost a ton of gratitude and have way too much entitlement attitudes.

  21. Bansai buckeroo

Willy…I don’t have a problem with him trying. But I also don’t have a problem with them withholding his salary if he is a no show…Both sides should honor the contract. If the Texans are willing to renegiate, then fine…but he signed the contract and should honor it.

you know the NFL will cut you in 20 seconds if you have a career threatening injury.  It is the system he lives in, but I have a hard time believing anyone would leave 20+ million dollars on the table because of trying to take a moral stance especially given the lack of morals shown by NFL administration.

he is trying to do what is best for himself and his family,  I say get your $ Hopkins.

  23. Bansai buckeroo

Rob… I don’t think he would have given any money back if he had a bad year… Fire your agent if you are not happy with your contract…

  24. 66DAWGnNC

I have been in a remote part of NC this past week with little to no internet access. Just wanted to say two quick things. (1) It is good to get back to civilization; (2) It is GREAT to see Bulldawg Bob2 back on BI. Praying everything is well on the home front and looking forward to your recruiting insights again.

  25. RobDawg

@Bulldawg36. You need to teach them the Call the Dawgs cheer then. That should liven things up

  26. RobDawg

Could be a sticky situation and set a dangerous precedence. That’s why both parties have to go into any contract with eyes wide open. A deal is a deal isn’t it?

  27. Richmondawg

bahits Greg Poole loved their music for a long time, but having a bunch of zonked out junkies with questionable personal hygiene habits running the show? Ehh, not so much for me…

  28. RobDawg

Yes it was already 90 when we loaded up and headed out of Sthens around 11:30. Made it back just in time to get trailer unloaded before a nice shower hit here at the house. Good when a plan works out!

  29. Doc R

tmdawg12 they did not get specific, but from the description it sounds as though he is trading on the Forex market, not the stock market—-big difference—-PIP on brother

  30. DawgDaddy

DawgLink They have had to look at that butt ugly orange for too long and are ready to get away from it, can’t say as I blame them.

  31. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole I thought I had played ping pong but after watching them, that is a different game than what I knew.

  32. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole I hope to see folks wearing those colors looking like that a lot in 5 weeks.  Especially on the way out of the Dome.

  33. Reddawg13

Greg Poole You recruit like Kirby! Way to go Greg! BI is the  BEST in Bulldog football! The best in information and friends!

  34. Reddawg13

Here is my gym thought from yesterday…… You may not can be what you once were, but you can be more than you are now.

  35. Greg Poole

tmdawg12   It is interesting that a kid can be a day trader but probably could not be an insurance agent and certainly appear in an ad for a car dealer. At the most basic level, NCAA amateurism rules are nonsensical.

  36. RobDawg

Headed towards Athens. I will try and give a good impression if any of the recruits are looking my way

  37. Colonial Dawg

Hobnailboot aka RobG  You know by now that telling this group to behave is like telling Dawgs to like cats (or orange or something like that!).

  38. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Good read.  I did not know this tid bit, “Smart was successful enough to be named Bainbridge High’s Salutatorian for the Class of 1994.”

  39. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Being SECE games only,  after UGA, UT and UF matchups there are no best games in all probability so they had to include out of conference games is my guess.

  40. DawgDaddy

Hobnailboot aka RobG Hey Rob, watching cartoons with the great grand son.  A great day IMO.

  41. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Greg Poole I’m no genius but it seems to me if an uncommitted (publicly) kid is recruiting people to a certain school then there is a high probability they are a silent to that school or have made up their own mind for that school.

  42. Greg Poole

The lineup is complete, for now.  We have now added I’m Your Huckleberry, The Grit Tree and Bernie’s Dawg Blawg as standalone blogs within Bulldawg Illustrated. Please take time to stop by Bernie’s first post and welcome him to BI.

As we head toward the season, the additions listed above plus the return of @Bulldawg Bob2 will give us plenty of content to attract quality readers and commenters to the site. We are excited.

Bob is going to concentrating on manning this thread at night. Providing an active commenting platform at night will allow those readers who can not access the site during the day to let their voices be heard.

    Let the woofing begin!
