Sophomore Ellen Perez reached her highest-ever personal rank for the third consecutive poll, moving up one spot to No. 6 in the country for singles play in the latest poll released by the ITA on Tuesday afternoon.

The rankings, released by the governing body of collegiate tennis every two weeks thus far this season, have been kind to Perez after her 11-1 start to singles in the spring. Undefeated in SEC singles play, Perez climbed to No. 10 on March 8 then No. 7 on March 22. At the time of the rankings, each mark represented the best of her career. New polls will appear weekly through the rest of April.

Kennedy Shaffer reached her highest rank of the spring as she rose to No. 51, a leap of five spots over the past two weeks. Caroline Brinson stayed steady at No. 27 and Silvia Garcia checked in at No. 92.

In doubles, Georgia retained two ranked pairs with Perez and Mariana Gould leading the way at No. 23. The top-court pairing has risen in each of the past three polls after falling to 40th on February 23. The duo of sophomores was ranked 28th on March 8 then 25th on March 22 before today.

The new second-court pairing of Garcia and Shaffer claimed the 80th spot despite not being credited with a decision this spring. The pair is 0-0 with two appearances over this past weekend.

The Bulldogs (15-2, 8-1) remained at No. 4 following a 2-0 performance over the weekend that involved 4-0 sweeps over then-No. 24 Arkansas and then-No. 71 Missouri. UGA retained the lead position among SEC schools, followed closely by Vanderbilt (No. 5) and Florida (No. 6).

Georgia will the road this weekend to face No. 16 LSU on Friday before a tilt at No. 18 Texas A&M on Sunday.
