WTENNIS: Dawg Trio Advance in Singles Tourney

 Three Bulldogs advance to the round of the 32 in the NCAA Individual Singles Tournament at the USTA National Campus Sunday afternoon.
 
Sophomore No. 55 Lea Ma kicked off singles play for Georgia, defeating No. 38 Rebeka Stolmar of Central Florida, 6-1, 6-4 and will take on the No. 1 overall seed Sara Daavettila of North Carolina. Senior and No. 4 overall seed Katarina Jokic bested Shakhnoza Khatamova of UC Santa Barbra 6-1, 7-6(5) and will face off against Janice Tjen of Oregon. Junior No. 20 Meg Kowalski rounded out the three wins, having defeated No. 32 Makenna Jones of North Carolina 6-2, 6-2 and will play the winner of Katarina Kozarov and Michaela Gordon. Kozarov serves as a 9-16 seed.
 
The singles tournament will continue on Monday, May 24 with times to be announced at a later time. The doubles tournament kicks off with the No. 6 duo of Jokic and freshman Ariana Arseneault taking on Cameron Corse and Page Freeman of Notre Dame.
