Stats That Matter: Georgia vs. Florida

5 – straight Georgia victories over Florida

Once again, these resilient Bulldogs somehow came out on top. The 24-20 victory over the Gators marks Georgia’s fifth consecutive win over their border rival. This game has been one-sided the past few years, but it never seems to disappoint fans on both sides.

112 – Zachariah Branch receiving yards

The Bulldogs’ receiver took over the game offensively for Georgia with 112 receiving yards on 10 receptions. With Colbie Young’s injury against Ole Miss, it was evident that someone needed to step up and make plays in the passing game. If Bulldog Nation didn’t already know, Branch is arguably one of the most talented playmakers in the SEC, and now will likely be Georgia’s top option out wide moving forward.

1 – Noah Thomas touchdown

The transfer from Texas A&M caught his first touchdown pass as a Bulldog to give Georgia a 17-10 lead in the third quarter. Like Branch, Thomas will need to continue to find the end zone for the rest of the season, with injuries being a topic of discussion in Athens. Though he’s had a quiet season so far, look for his volume to increase.

70 – Chauncey Bowens rushing yards

Bowens had a quiet start to the game, but ended the game with 70 rushing yards on 9 carries. The Florida native broke the Gators’ back with his 36-yard touchdown run to put Georgia back on top for the final time in the fourth quarter. The depth of this Georgia running back room has been impressive to watch this season and will be a great stronghold for Bobo and the offense as the postseason looms.

0 – Florida fourth down conversions

The Gators failed to convert on two of their fourth-down conversions in their loss to the Bulldogs. The most notable failed attempt came with under eight minutes to go when the Georgia defense stopped Florida from gaining a yard deep in Georgia territory. This stand by the Bulldogs likely saved the game, as Stockton’s offense marched down the field seven plays later to take a 24-20 lead.

76,131 – attendance for the 2025 Georgia-Florida Game

76,131 fans watched this classic matchup between the Bulldogs and Gators for the last time at EverBank Stadium until 2028 due to renovations. The 2026 game will take place in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with the 2027 matchup moving to Tampa at Raymond James Stadium. While the rivalry lives on, it will be a bit sad not to see the great migration down to the Golden Isles and Jacksonville to witness one of the greatest rivalries in the sport unfold on the banks of the St. Johns River.
