Hugh Freeze (HC) – Freeze is coaching his third season with the Tigers. In his first year, he nearly defeated No. 1 Georgia in front of a sold-out Jordan-Hare. He now finds himself on the hot seat and in need of a key win to keep his job. Billy Napier might have just saved his after downing the Longhorns in The Swamp, so look for Freeze to try and do the same this weekend.
Jackson Arnold (QB #11) – After two seasons at Oklahoma, Arnold transferred to Auburn this year and has been solid under center for the Tigers. Though he has thrown for 846 yards and five touchdowns, he also has five rushing touchdowns, making him a deadly quarterback for any team to play against. Georgia has struggled to get quarterbacks on the ground this season, so keep an eye on Arnold’s ability to create back-breaking runs against Smart’s defense.
Jeremiah Cobb (RB #23) – Alongside Arnold in the rushing game is Cobb, who leads the team with 403 rushing yards. His number has been called on a little less over the past few weeks, but he has two 100+ yard rushing games under his belt this year. Look for Cobb to try and be the first running back to find success against a stifling Georgia run defense.
Eric Singleton Jr (WR #1) – This junior is arguably Auburn’s best offensive player. Georgia fans should be familiar with him after he spent his first two years at Georgia Tech and posting over 700 receiving yards both years during his time in Atlanta. With Georgia still trying to find their footing in the pass game defensively, Singleton could be in for a big game as Auburn tries to pull off the upset under the lights of Jordan-Hare.
Cam Coleman (WR #8) – Coleman had a strong season last year in his first season on the Plains with 598 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. His explosiveness was on full display for the nation to see when he had 88 yards and a touchdown on just three catches in their loss to Oklahoma. The sophomore leads the team with 15 yards per catch, so look for Freeze to send Coleman on deep routes against Georgia’s secondary to ignite the Tiger crowd.
Xavier Atkins (LB #17) – Atkins is the Tigers’ most impactful player on defense, leading his squad with 29 tackles. After a quiet freshman year, the sophomore has found great success on an Auburn defense that is allowing around 16 points per game. Don’t be surprised if Atkins flies around the field this weekend and produces key plays against Stockton and the Bulldogs.
Keyron Crawford (DE #24) – This senior is playing in his second season with Freeze and the Tigers after transferring in from Arkansas State following his sophomore year. Crawford leads the Tigers’ defense with four sacks and also has an interception and fumble recovery. Look for him to make noise in the Georgia backfield and possibly even force a turnover or two.
The greatest player in Auburn basketball history is the Round Mound of Rebound himself, Sir Charles Barkley, an NBA Hall of Famer, Olympic Gold Medalist, and All-American for the Tigers.
Tucker Frederickson was Auburn’s top player of the 1960s, SEC Player of the Year and first team All-American in 1964, he then went on to be a Pro Bowl fullback for the New York Giants.
Hall of Fame slugger Frank Thomas, a standout for the Tigers in baseball and football, was a two-time American League MVP for the White Sox, who hit a career.301 with 521 home runs.
