Eleven current or former Bulldogs will represent Georgia’s track and field program at the IAAF World Championships that begin in London on Friday.
 
 
Current UGA sprinter Cejhae Greene of Antigua starts things off during the meet’s first day at 3:20 p.m. ET on Friday in the opening heats of the 100-meter dash. Greene was an Olympic semifinalist in the event at last year’s Games and also posted his personal record of 10.01 in the 100m during his 2016 season.
 
 
Seven-time NCAA champion Kendell Williams, a native of Marietta, Ga., begins her heptathlon at 5:05 a.m. on Saturday and is scheduled to complete her seven events on Sunday. The 2016 Olympian posted a career-best tally of 6,564 points to win the USATF Championships in June.
 
 
The next current Bulldog competing in London will be rising senior Tatiana Gusin, who is a native of Orhei, Moldova. Gusin high jumps on August 10 at 2:10 p.m. She won the 2017 Southeastern Conference outdoor title and was runner-up to teammate Mady Fagan at this year’s NCAA Championships.
 
 

 
 
A pair of Georgia decathletes will battle on two of the last three days of competition. Karl Saluri of Estonia and Devon Williams of Marietta will start the decathlon on August 11 at 5 a.m. and complete their 10 events the next day. Saluri, a rising senior, competed at the last year’s Olympics and was third in the heptathlon at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships. Williams, who completed his UGA eligibility in June along with his sister, was the runner-up at this year’s NCAA outdoor meet after winning the 2017 NCAA heptathlon title indoors.
 
 

 
 
Bulldog head coach Petros Kyprianou, associate head coach/men’s sprints, hurdles and relays coach Ken Harnden and throws coach Don Babbitt have joined their current and former student-athletes in London for the meet.
 
 
Also of note, rising senior Keturah Orji has opted to sit out the meet to recover from some lingering pains left over from winning the USATF Championships. Orji, a five-time NCAA triple jump champion, was fourth at both the 2016 World Indoor Championships and at last summer’s Olympic Games. She is the collegiate and American record holder in the event.
 
 
Another half dozen former Bulldogs will also be competing at the World Championships. Former collegiate record holder Jenny Dahlgren of Argentina will compete in the hammer throw; 2010 NCAA hammer champion Nikola Lomnicka of Slovakia will compete in her featured event; 2016 Olympic gold medalist and 2013 NCAA indoor 400m champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo will be representing the Bahamas in the sprints; Kibwe Johnson will represent the U.S. in the hammer throw; St. Lucia’s Levern Spencer, who was sixth at last year’s Olympics, will join Gusin in the high jump; and Estonia’s Maicel Uibo will join his wife Shaunae in London as the two-time NCAA champion competes in the decathlon.
 
 
Two Bulldog volunteer assistants will also compete in the first round of the 100m on Friday. Warren Fraser of the Bahamas and Kemar Hyman of the Cayman Islands will join Greene and world record holder and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, among others, in the meet’s first event.
