The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the South Region awards on Sunday and three Bulldogs were named among the recipients. University of Georgia track and field Head Coach Petros Kyprianou has been named the USTFCCCA South Region’s Women’s Head Coach of the Year after garnering either regional or national assistant coach of the year honors seven times since 2008. Team members Keturah Orji and Devon Williams also won USTFCCCA South Region awards.

 
Senior D. Williams was named the South Region Men’s Field Athlete of the Year for the first time in his career while junior K. Orji was named the region’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. Orji was also the 2016 USTFCCCA National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year.
 
 

 
 
Williams, a native of Marietta, Ga., is ranked second nationally in the decathlon with a total of 8,345 points, which is the ninth-best score in collegiate outdoor history. He also won the 110-meter hurdles with a national-leading 13.37 and finished eighth in the long jump at the Southeastern Conference Championships with a mark of 25 feet, 5 ¼ inches. Williams is a member of The Bowerman Watch List going into Nationals.
 
 

 
 
Orji, a native of Mount Olive, N.J., won the Torrin Lawrence Memorial with the NCAA’s second-best wind-legal triple jump mark in history at 46-11.50. She captured her third straight SEC outdoor triple jump title in addition to finishing fifth at the meet in the long jump. Orji’s top mark of 21-8.25 in the long jump ranked seventh on the NCAA Descending Order List this year. Orji is also a member of The Bowerman Watch List.
 
 
The fourth-ranked Georgia men and sixth-ranked Lady Bulldogs traveled to Eugene, Oregon on Sunday and will start competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Wednesday through Saturday. Williams will compete in the decathlon while Orji will long jump and triple jump at Oregon’s Hayward Field.
