JaxDawg This is why I think Lambert will end up 3rd next week.  Kirby and Chaney are not going to go the safe route.   They need to show Lawrence the offense.

Noticed the workout video below with Kubs joking around. I know it’s probably nothing but do you guys think that is any indication of a more relaxed environment? What I mean by that is, do you think there will be distractions or a mentality of not going into to work with a serious hunger to compete and win? I’m just trying to picture how Nick Saban runs his program. I’m imagining kids staying quiet and listening. Almost like a drill sergeant at barracks. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this. My coaches used to chew people out for not staying focused and joking around and I’m thankful for that because it made us more driven as a group and willing to put more work to make your coach proud

JaxDawg  I don’t think that was the reason at all. From talking with prospects it had more to do with the fact that he wanted to concentrate on his high school’s fall camp to get ready for his team’s football season as well as concentrate on school. He is a 2018 prospect.
Now, a lot of fan boards on the pay sites are going all to pieces on this, but I have found nothing that supports the argument that Clemson convinced to hold off his announcement.
Saying that, he is a big time QB prospect for 2018; so, every major FBS program and their brother are going to recruit this young man hard. It is a long ways off till 2018.

So rumors are that Trevor Lawrence delayed his decision bc Clemson coaches convinced him to see how the season goes. If true, that’s fine, but what scares me is if he will be comparing Watson to either Ramsey, lambert, or true freshman Eason. I hope he compares the systems instead and not who just gets the W. Rusty mentioned he thinks it might run into mid October when he makes his decision

Bulltoad Bulldawg36 The difference is leverage. Smart has leverage. If he goes 3 seasons with poor performance he’ll end up like Richt and they’ll say, “show us you can win first” – My guess Richt could have got the IPF on a fast track after the 2005 season. He showed that he could win SEC championships and had some leverage going into the decision.

Greg Poole Reddawg13 Bulldawg36 I do realize that, but I do know Kirby says “why not us?” and they are working hard to win each game they play and that is what wins championships.

Bulldawg Bob2 AlphaDawg We’ll see if McElwain has perfected UT’s indefinite offseason suspension policy.

    JICYMI – Kirby Smart’s post-practice presser after yesterday’s practice:
Kirby Smart gives a report from Georgia’s practice on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldog’s head coach talks about where the team is at sixteen days into fall camp, and he addresses the heat and how an IPF would benefit players. There are injury updates on Quincy Mauger, Charlie Woerner and John Atkins, and which walk-ons were awarded scholarships. Plus, position changes, and much more.

Unsung trio of heroes: Georgia | WILLIAM MCFADDEN | Saturday Down South
“A lot of eyes will be on Georgia in Kirby Smart’s first season. The Bulldogs will be under a microscope locally and nationally, giving players and coaches the opportunity to make a statement about the future of the program.
Although the team’s stars and rising contributors will get attention, there are those whose impact will go largely unnoticed. A crucial backside block or a drawn double team are sometimes the most important parts of any given play – the dirty work that creates glory for someone else.
This is a chance to honor those men. Here are Georgia’s three unsung heroes for 2016.”

AlphaDawg Bulldawg36  Correct. They are at the “kick off” brunch/luncheon for the Corky Kell Classic

  11. AlphaDawg

freddawg AlphaDawg Yeah I’m not seeing much or many names that pop out. There was a kid in Sandy Springs who should have went to UGA probably but apparently we let him go to Ole Miss

  12. Bulltoad

Bulldawg36 I have been guilty of blaming the Athletic dept and defending coach Richt.  I always felt the Athletic dept should be doing whatever is needed and that the coach should not have to ask.  It sure seems like I was wrong.  Kirby is getting whatever he needs.  Is it possible he is getting it because he is asking?  Hypothetical question.  If we did not have an IPF on the way would Kirby have challenged the Bulldog nation to get one built? My guess is he would have if it was needed.

Bleudawg Bulldawg36  There is and was definitely an arms race as far as money that programs were spending in the SEC that UGA was not on par with as far as the top programs.

  14. Bleudawg

Bulldawg36 I have heard conflicting numbers but around 2007-2008 our budget stagnated and we didnt keep up w/ the SEC arms race. Now I personally dont have those numbers but if true I think we simply fell behind. CKS has a lot of excitement going but hes also got some $$$ behind him too. hopefully we will catch up. If the first few months are an indication anyways.
