No. 4 Georgia defeats No. 23 Georgia Tech 16-9 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, marking the Bulldogs’ eighth straight win over the Yellow Jackets. 

Gunner Stockton threw his fifth interception of the season with 5:47 remaining in the first, which set Georgia Tech kicker Aidan Birr up for a 30-yard field goal to make the score 3-0. 

 

 

 

 

The lone touchdown of the game came with 4:35 left in the first half when Stockton found Zachariah Branch for a 7-yard touchdown pass. Branch led Georgia receivers with 53 yards on five receptions. 

Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring connected on a 30-yard field goal for a 13-3 lead at halftime. 

Birr made his second field goal of the game from 44 yards to make the score 13-6 with 4:33 remaining in the third quarter. Woodring’s 50-yard field goal with 14:10 to go gave the Bulldogs a two-score advantage. 

 

 

 

 

Georgia Tech would kick another field goal, but was unable to score a touchdown on their final drive of the game. 

The Yellow Jackets tallied 69 rushing yards, with Haynes King throwing for 181 yards and an interception.
