Five Dawgs Selected on Day Two of the NFL Draft

Christen Miller

Five members of the University of Georgia football team heard their names called on the second night of the 2026 NFL Draft Friday evening at Heinz Field.

In the second round, defensive lineman Christen Miller was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 10th pick (42nd overall), followed by inside linebacker CJ Allen going to the Indianapolis Colts with 21st pick (53rd overall).

In the third round, tight end Oscar Delp was selected with the ninth pick (73rd overall) by the Saints, followed by wide receiver Zachariah Branch with the 15th pick (79th overall) by the Atlanta Falcons. Defensive back Daylen Everette then went to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 21st pick (85th overall).

Head coach Kirby Smart has now produced 82 NFL Draft picks during his 10 seasons at the helm of the Georgia program, including 13 linebackers. Delp’s selection marked the seventh time in eight seasons in which a Bulldog tight end was chosen. The six selections through three rounds tied for the third-most in program history with 2021 and 2025.

Miller, a 6-4, 328-pound native of Ellenwood, spent four seasons on the Georgia defensive line and started 24 games over the 2024-25 seasons. Miller finished with four sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss over his last three years while also posting a team-leading 23 quarterback pressures last season. He was part of a senior class that tallied 51 wins, was 25-1 at home, won three SEC titles and advanced to three College Football Playoffs.

Allen, a native of Barnesville who is 6-0, 233 pounds, was the 2025 team leader with 88 stops and eight tackles for loss while adding 3.5 sacks. The First Team All-American who was a finalist for the Butkus Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy was a captain seven times for the Bulldogs last season. Adding two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 2025, Allen finished his career with 30 starts and more than 200 tackles.

Delp, a 6-5, 245-pound native of Cumming, suited up in 54 games for the Bulldogs, starting 34 of those at tight end while competing for playing time against a number of other top-rated teammates at his position. The Campbell Trophy semifinalist was fourth on the team last season with 20 catches for 261 yards and a score. Delp was a force in the blocking game as well last year, protecting QB Gunner Stockton en route to a 69.7 completion percentage and RB Nate Frazier to 947 yards on the ground.

Branch, a 5-9, 176-pound native of Las Vegas, Nevada, made his single season as a Bulldog a memorable one as he snagged a single season record 81 passes for 811 yards and six touchdowns. A Coaches Second Team All-SEC selection as a receiver and a Third Team selection as an all-purpose threat, Branch added 180 punt return yards on 15 attempts (12.0 average) and 205 yards on 10 attempts (20.5 average), including a 44 yarder in the win over No. 10 Texas.

Everette, a 6-1, 198-pound native of Norfolk, Virginia, complemented his 50 tackles with an interception and a fumble recovery during his final season. The Coaches Third Team All-SEC selection was named the 2024 SEC Championship Game MVP after collecting an interception versus No. 2 Texas, which marked his third pick against the Longhorns after snagging a pair at top-ranked UT during the regular season. Everette was named a captain three times in 2025 while helping hold opponents to only 17.6 points/game.

Miller and Delp were the 11th and 12th Bulldogs to be selected by the Saints and first since defensive back Damian Swann went in the fifth round in 2015. Allen was the 13th Bulldog to be selected by the Colts and first since linebacker Amarlo Herrera went in the sixth round in 2015.

Branch was the 14th Bulldog ever selected by the Falcons, marking three straight seasons with a selection (Jalon Walker, 2025 and Zion Logue, 2024). Everette was the 21st Bulldog chosen by the Steelers and the first since Darnell Washington in 2023.

The 2026 NFL Draft concludes Saturday in Pittsburgh with the final four rounds, beginning at noon EDT.

Jeff Dantzler and Jon Stinchcomb Will Be UGA Radio’s Play-By-Play Team

Jeff Dantzler

The University of Georgia Athletic Association and its partner, Georgia Bulldog Sports Marketing, announced Friday that Jeff Dantzler — one of the most recognizable voices for Georgia Athletics over the last three decades — and Jon Stinchcomb — a former Bulldog All-American, Southeastern Conference and Super Bowl Champion —  will take over football broadcast duties for the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network, beginning with the 2026 season.

Dantzler, who will also maintain his play-by-play responsibilities for Georgia baseball and Lady Bulldog basketball, replaces Scott Howard, who will continue his role as the men’s basketball play-by-play announcer, along with other special projects.

Howard has served as the play-by-play voice for Georgia football over the past 18 years and been a part of the broadcast crew for over 30 seasons. Howard has called several big moments in Bulldog history, including back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.

Stinchcomb replaces Josh Brock in the analyst spot. Former Georgia All-SEC quarterback D.J. Shockley will remain as the Bulldogs’ sideline reporter.

“Jeff Dantzler, Jon Stinchcomb and D.J. Shockley share a tremendous passion for the University of Georgia,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said. “We look forward to many more iconic calls as they bring to life exceptional moments in Georgia Bulldogs history. We also thank Scott Howard for his nearly four decades of work for the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network, and we are thrilled he is staying on as our men’s basketball announcer.”

A native of Statesboro, Georgia, Dantzler grew up listening to the legendary Larry Munson. The man he idolized later became a mentor and friend, guiding him through his start in the business.

Three decades later, Dantzler has endeared himself to Georgia fans, not only as a play-by-play announcer, but as a host for numerous events, including the Circle of Honor, the weekly Bulldog Brunch Show, football’s pre and postgame shows and several alumni events across the state.

“Georgia Athletics is great because of the leadership and the common purpose we share from the top down,” Dantzler said. “I want to thank President Morehead, Josh Brooks, Kirby Smart, Georgia Athletics and Georgia Bulldog Sports Marketing for this tremendous honor. As a young kid growing up in Statesboro, loving the University of Georgia, this is a dream come true. It is a wonderful honor and the opportunity of a lifetime. Like so many of the Bulldog faithful, I live and breathe by what happens on fall Saturdays. I am committed to providing our fans the very best picture and analysis as our beloved Bulldogs continue to compete for SEC and national championships. I am extremely grateful and humbled to step behind the mic and share these moments with each of you. Go Dawgs!”

Dantzler has called Georgia baseball games since 1995, with David Johnston by his side the past 27 years. The duo has been a part of four College World Series appearances, including a national runner-up finish in 2008. He has also been behind the mic for Lady Bulldog basketball over the last 32 seasons, with three trips to the Final Four and four Southeastern Conference Championships.

Stinchcomb was a two-time first-team All-SEC selection, a Walter Camp All-American and Academic All-American during his time on the Bulldog offensive line from 1998-2002. He helped pave the way for an offense that led the SEC in scoring with 32.6 ppg in 2002 as the squad captured the SEC championship. He was inducted into UGA’s Circle of Honor in 2012.

The Lilburn, Ga., native was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 37th overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. He was named the NFL’s Man of the Year in 2008 and helped lead the Saints to a Super Bowl championship in 2009.

Shockley has been a part of the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network since 2021 and is a sports reporter for WAGA-TV FOX 5 in Atlanta. The former Bulldog quarterback led Georgia to the 2005 SEC Championship, earning MVP honors in the title game. Shockley was a first-team All-SEC selection and won the FCA Bobby Bowden Player of the Year Award after leading the Bulldogs to a 10-3 record in his senior season.

Details regarding the full Georgia Bulldog Radio Network production schedule will be announced at a later date.

MBB: Andrew Osasuyi Transfers to UGA

Andrew Osasuyi, who helped Italy earn a Gold Medal at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket tournament, has signed to transfer from St. Bonaventure to Georgia to continue his college basketball career, head coach Mike White announced on Friday.

Osasuyi (pronounce oh-sah-souoe) is a 6-9, 211-pound rising sophomore center from Magenta, Italy, who led the Bonnies in field goal percentage and blocks as a freshman. He connected on 65.1 percent (54-of-83) of his shot from the field and also rejected 55 shots, an average of 1.4 bpg that ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10. Osasuyi also contributed 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.9 minutes of action per game. He recorded a pair of double-digit scoring outputs, with 10 points against Canisius and 12 at Fordham, and blocked eight shots against Saint Joseph’s, the second-most in a game in St. Bonaventure history.

Last summer, Osasuyi averaged 7.6 points and team highs of 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game to help Italy win the FIBA U20 Eurobasket in Heraklion, Greece. He started all seven games and also led the Italians in field goal percentage, connecting on 61.0 percent (25-of-41) shots from the field. Among tournament statistical leaders, he ranked No. 4 in rebounds and No. 8 blocks. Osasuyi posted a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds in a Round of 16 victory over Iceland. He had additional double-digit tallies of 12 points against Ukraine and 12 boards versus Belarus. He fell just short of a second double-double in the Gold Medal game, scoring nine points and grabbing nine boards in an 83-66 victory over Lithuania.

Osasuyi prepped at College Basket Borgomanero and also represented Academy Scafati Basket in the 2024-25 Italy NextGen Cup, averaging a double-double of 13.4 points and 10.3 rebounds as well as 3.0 blocks over seven games.

With the addition of Osasuyi, Georgia now has 11 players set for its 2026-27 roster.

The Bulldogs will welcome back six returnees, including 80 percent of their starting lineup in:

• Blue Cain, a 6-5, 195-pound rising senior guard from Knoxville, Tenn., who became Georgia’s 49th 1,000-point scorer – but first since 2017 – in the regular-season finale and is currently the Bulldogs’ career record holder for best free throw percentage (.846).

• Kanon Catchings, a 6-9, 220-pound rising junior forward from Brownsburg, Ind., who was the Bulldogs’ second-leading scorer in SEC play at 13.7 points per game and was named SEC Player of the Week on March 9 after averaging 27.5 points in key late-season wins over No. 16 Alabama and Mississippi State to lock up an NCAA Tournament bid.

• Marcus “Smurf” Millender, a 5-11, 175-pound rising senior guard from Houston Texas, who led the Bulldogs in assists and became the ninth player in school history with 100 assists and 50 3-pointers in the same season.

• Kareem Stagg, a 6-8, 230-pound rising sophomore forward from Chesapeake, Va., who emerged as a starter and key contributor during Georgia’s late-season surge to earn an NCAA bid by averaging 6.9 points per game over the final 10 contests of the season.

Georgia has signed five newcomers, Osasuyi and:

• Freddie Dilione V, a 6-5, 195-pound senior guard from Fayetteville, N.C., who was Penn State’s leading scorer both overall and in Big Ten play last season while averaging 14.0 ppg in 32 outings and 14.1 ppg in league action.

• Brady Dunlap, a 6-7, 200-pound redshirt junior guard from Studio City, Calif., who led the Atlantic 10 Conference in 3-point shooting last season by connecting on 45.1 percent (51-of-113) attempts of his shots from beyond the arc.

• David Ugonna Ike, a 7-0, 235-pound freshman post player from Owerri, Nigeria, who prepped at the NBA Academy Africa in Senegal. Earlier this year, Ike averaged 24.3 points and 12.3 rebounds while helping NBA Academy Africa compile a 3-0 record at the Advance Global Cup.

• Kemauri “Kemo” Millender, a 6-0, 180-pound junior guard from Houston, Texas, who helped New Mexico Junior College advance to the Round of 16 of the 2026 NJCAA DI Tournament last season while averaging 9.5 points per game. Millender is the older brother of current Bulldog “Smurf” Millender.

The Bulldogs are coming off their winningest regular season ever, with Georgia earning 22 victories on the season. They also broke school records for total points (2,951) and scoring average (89.4 ppg). Those tallies helped Georgia record a third-straight 20-win season for just the third time ever and earn a second-consecutive NCAA Tournament bid for only the fourth time in program history.
