Two Dawgs Taken Day Three of the NFL Draft

Micah Morris

Two players from the University of Georgia football team found their new homes on day three of the 2026 NFL Draft.

In the fourth round, wide receiver Colbie Young was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 40th pick (140th overall). Later, in the sixth round, offensive lineman Micah Morris was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 26th pick (208th overall).

Young, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., who measures out at 6-4, 221 pounds, was third on the team in 2025 with 26 catches for 358 yards and a score despite only playing in eight games.  He put up 11-149-2 in five contests during the 2024 season with the Bulldogs.  The Miami transfer piled up nearly a combined 1,000 yards during his first two years with the Hurricanes.

Young becomes the first Georgia wide receiver drafted by the Bengals since Cincinnati took seven-time Pro-Bowler A.J. Green in 2011. His selection also marks the third-most Georgia draftees in the first four rounds of the draft in program history (7).

Morris, a native of Kingsland, Ga., native who measures 6-5, 350 pounds, spent all five of his seasons as a Bulldog, starting 19 games at guard over the last two years.  Arguably Georgia’s strongest team member, he helped protect QB Gunner Stockton en route to a 69.7 completion percentage and RB Nate Frazier to nearly 1,000 yards in 2025.  Morris was part of three SEC championship squads and a pair of national championship teams while UGA stacked up a 65-7 during his tenure.

Philadelphia has now drafted seven Bulldogs in the last five drafts with Morris joining Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, Kelee Ringo, Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter and Smael Mondon Jr. Further, Morris is the 14th offensive lineman to be drafted out of Georgia since 2020.

All told, the eight total players selected in this year’s draft is tied for fifth-most under Coach Smart during his time as head coach.

With the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, undrafted players now have the opportunity to sign undrafted free agent deals with prospective teams.

Key Quotes

Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson

On Saturday’s doubleheader…

“We showed a little bit of toughness today. Toughness is the ability to have great endurance, and we did. We took a gut punch in that first game but just have to keep going. Then in the second game, we had to keep grinding and I told the team it will turn in our favor, and it did. Tre (Phelps) got off a great swing there to give us the lead in the 14th. Paul Farley came in and shut it down. We can spend all night here talking how great some of the guys battled. Zach Brown got us off to a good start, Caleb Jameson gave us 2.2 innings, Matt Scott a little more than three innings, Grant Edwards goes two scoreless, and we brought back (Justin) Byrd who got us to Paul. ”
