Dawgs in the NFL – Week 15

Week 15 of NFL action is complete, and several former Bulldogs had exceptional performances for their respective teams.
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook III continues to inch closer to the NFL rushing crown as the season draws to a close. Cook rushed 22 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns while adding a touchdown reception to complete his hat trick of touchdowns on Sunday. With 107 yards on Sunday, Cook became just the third running back in Bills franchise history to have eight games with at least 100 rushing yards in a season. In addition to Bill’s history, Cook added to NFL history as he became just the third player in league history to have 100 or more rushing yards, two or more rushing touchdowns, 1 or more receiving touchdowns, and help his team to overcome a 21-point deficit in the same game.
Meanwhile, Houston Texans cornerback Kamari Lassiter continues to supplement one of the NFL’s best defenses. Lassiter turned in another impactful performance on Sunday as he collected five tackles, two passes defended and an interception. With his interception on Sunday, Lassiter has set a new career high in interceptions with four. Currently, Lassiter ranks in the top-10 in both interceptions (T-6th) and passes defended (T-7th).

Atlanta Falcons 29, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28
Jalon Walker, LB – Played over 40 defensive snaps for Atlanta, totaling one tackle, half a sack, and two quarterback hits.
Leonard Floyd, DE – Appeared on 35 defensive snaps for the Falcons, recording no statistics.
Charlie Woerner, TE – Saw action on offense and special teams for Atlanta, catching two passes for 12 yards and recording one tackle.
Tykee Smith, S – Was listed as inactive for Tampa Bay due to a neck and shoulder injury.
Buffalo Bills 35, New England Patriots 31
James Cook III, RB – Started at running back for Buffalo, rushing 22 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns while catching two passes for four yards and a touchdown. With 107 yards on Sunday, Cook became just the third running back in Bills franchise history to have eight 100-yard rushing games in a season. Currently, Cook sits less than 40 rushing yards behind NFL rushing leader Jonathan Taylor with 1,451 rushing yards, and he ranks fifth in the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 10.
Sedrick Van Pran Granger, C – Dressed as a reserve offensive lineman for Buffalo in the win.
Jared Wilson, OL – Started at guard for New England as the offense rushed for nearly 250 yards.

D’Andre Swift, RB – Started at running back for the Bears, rushing 18 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyson Campbell, CB – Started at cornerback for Cleveland, recording five tackles.

Roquan Smith, ILB – Started at linebacker for Baltimore, racking up 14 tackles.
Malaki Starks, S – Played over 70 defensive snaps for the Ravens, totaling five tackles and one pass defended.
John Jenkins, DT – Appeared on over 30 defensive snaps for Baltimore, recording four tackles.
Nick Moore, LS – Snapped seven times for the Ravens in the win.
Amarius Mims, OT – Started at offensive tackle for Cincinnati before exiting with a knee injury late.
Dylan Fairchild, OL – Started at guard for the Bengals as the offense gained nearly 300 yards.

Georgia Football Has Three On AFCA All-America Teams

Three Bulldogs have been named American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-Americans, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
Graduate SN Beau Gardner, a native of San Francisco, CA, was included on the First Team days after earning the Patrick Mannelly Award as the nation’s top snapper. Redshirt junior C Drew Bobo, a native of Athens, Ga., and junior ILB C.J. Allen, a native of Barnesville, Ga., were awarded Second Team AFCA All-America honors.
On Monday, Allen was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team and senior P Brett Thorson was tabbed a Second Team selection. Thorson also won the 2025 Ray Guy Award for being the country’s premier punter.
This past Friday, Thorson was named a Walter Camp First Team All-American, while Allen was named a Second Team All-American.

Third-seeded Georgia (12-1) will play in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, La., on Jan. 1. The Bulldogs will play the winner of Ole Miss-Tulane, who take on each other in the CFP first round on Dec. 20.
