Key Quotes:
Head Coach Mike White
On what he’s looking for from his team:
“We’ll play a little bit differently against Troy (than Georgia State). We’ll throw out another defense or two. We’ve gotten better offensively, so being able to evaluate the jump that we’ve made in these 10 days will be important. We’d like to play a couple more guys who didn’t get an opportunity to log minutes (at Georgia State). We’ll play a couple of different lineups. Most importantly, what you’re looking for is growth. You’re looking to play better than you played against Georgia State, and we’ll be looking for even more growth in the opener.”
On facing Troy:
“Troy was a team we immediately reached out to when we started looking for an exhibition opponent. We have a lot of respect for their head coach (Scott Cross) and their coaching staff. I go back a long time with a bunch of guys on their staff. When I was a young assistant coach at 22 years old back at Jacksonville State, Troy was our biggest rival. It’s pretty neat to compete against that team for so many years. I have a lot of respect for the way they defend and their toughness, their physicality. They’re coming off a really good year. Scott has done a wonderful job there. It gives us an opportunity to compete against a team that I know is going to play incredibly hard and be incredibly prepared and we’ll learn more about ourselves by Sunday evening.”
What’s Next:
Georgia will open its regular-season schedule a week from Monday when the Bulldogs host Bellarmine at Stegeman Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3. The outing is the second game of a doubleheader which also features Georgia’s Lady Bulldogs facing Alabama State at 5:00 p.m.

Key Quotes:
Head Coach Meghan Boenig
On her main takeaway from today:
“I think we just kind of kept building on the momentum of yesterday, found a couple more places we could close gaps, put out some really aggressive rides that ended up in huge scores, MOPs, really, really proud of this group. It is quite a test to host two back-to-back and then put the neutral one in. Having that kind of focus is so important. Having said that, we’re going to continue to work on the little in-between. There are little moments that we want to really shut the door entirely. This team can do that. Challenge is always going to be going on the road. Things become unfamiliar. Do you question yourself, or do you really get in the weeds and pull it out?”
On what little moments could be improved:
“I think little specific moments are so subtle and so small. It may be a corner with a breath. It may be making eye contact. It may be pushing your horse for just that half point more. What we’re really excited about we are not talking about major errors. We’re not talking about negative numbers coming to positive numbers. We’re talking about making a good score a great score.”
Cadence Eger | Reining | Junior
On competing in Reining today on Jewels…
“Honestly, after the ride, I just loved her. She’s such a great mare and I felt on top of the world. It’s so cool just to go out there and go ride these horses.”
On what she can take away from today’s meet…
“One thing that I can take away from this is to always count on your horse. They can do a lot in the show pen, even when some things don’t go right in the warmup.”
