Describe your typical Bulldog game day:  I like to go to brunch before the festivities begin. Heirloom Cafe is a favorite; get the Love on a Biscuit! After brunch we’ll go to a few tailgates and fiish up the game at The Royal Peasant or the rooftop bar at the Georgia Theatre.

Who inspires you? My parents – Growing up in a household of two entrepreneurs was both inspiring and intimidating. My mom became an entrepreneur when I was in middle school and it has been incredible to watch her interior design career grow over the years. My stepfather reinvented his career later in his life as well by starting Gnat’s Landing and Bubba
Garcias, two popular restaurants in the Golden Isles area with my mom.

Fave blog: Camels & Chocolate by Kristin Luna – travel inspiration for days

Fave Instagram: Right now these are my big three:
@beerliveshere (arty craft beer photography),
@raiosunshine (fellow historic preservationist with gorgeous old building shots from all over the USA,
@mikkitrow – I recently attended her yoga retreat and love her whole vibe of yoga, travel, and beer.

Fave magazine: I just discovered Cherry Bombe recently and love the profies of women in food.

Fave book: I travel mostly in the United States but I’m a total Francophile and architecture nerd so when I read Vicki Archer’s My Paris Life… I fell in love.

Fave song: “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free” by Nina Simone

Fave artist: That is also really tough for me. I’ll say Gillian Welch right now because she just released her album “Harrow and the Harvest” on vinyl for the first time and I can’t stop playing it.

SHARE A TAILGATE RECIPE:

Man Catchers:

I learned this recipe from my dear friend Claire Cothren while in grad school
at UGA. Anytime she made them, men seemed to line up at her tailgate so the name was a joke that just stuck. This one gets major bonus points for being really easy too.

Ingredients

*Depending on how big your tailgate is will dictate how much of ingredients you need.

• Green Bell Pepper or Jalapeno
• Cream Cheese
• Sausage
• Bacon
Preparation

Slice the pepper into thick strips. Smear cream cheese on the peppers. Top with sausage. Wrap with bacon. Grill to perfection. Serve warm but they taste just fine at room temp too.
