Rebels To Watch 2026

Pete Golding (HC) – In his first full season as the head coach of the Rebels, Golding has solidified himself as a premier coach in the conference taking down his former boss in Lane Kiffin and leading the Rebels to a 6-2 record. As one of the few active coaches who has taken down Coach Smart, Golding crushed a title-hopeful Bulldogs team in New Orleans on Jan. 1 of this year, and Golding has proven time and time again he is not afraid of a fight.

‌Deuce Alexander (WR #1) – As one of Trinidad Chambliss’ favorite targets, Alexander has continually used his speed to burn defenses all season long recording over 600 yards receiving and five touchdowns so far this season. With the ability to turn any reception into a trip to the endzone, Alexander has every single defensive coordinator zeroed in on him when he takes the field.

Trinidad Chambliss (QB #6) – The Ferris State transfer and former back-up has been the center of the college football world for over a year now, but he has continually met and exceeded preposterous expectations. Putting up over 2,100 passing yards and 25 total touchdowns on the season, Chambliss has inserted himself into the Heisman conversation and shot up NFL Draft boards. However, the entire fate of the Rebel season rests on his shoulders against the Junkyard Dawg defense.

‌Kewan Lacy (HB #5) – With his health uncertain heading into Saturday, the Rebels are simply praying to have their star running back laced up and ready. However, even if he is simply used as a decoy, Lacy has the ability to distract defenses and allow the other talented Rebels to break free and wreak havoc. While playing in only five games this season due to his shoulder injury, Lacy has still reached the endzone five times and recorded nearly 400 rushing yards in his limited action.

‌Suntarine Perkins (LB #4) – The senior linebacker from Mississippi has become accustomed to taking on the Dawgs during his time in Oxford, and he has actually been a part of two major wins. Recording three and a half sacks on the season, Perkins uses his smaller frame to quickly attack the passer. Facing a dual threat quarterback in Gunner Stockton, Perkins needs to be the great equalizer in eliminating his legs.

‌Blake Purchase (DE #3) – The junior defensive end has made his presence felt all season long, finding himself in the backfield time and time again recording four and a half sacks. His ability to force pressure and work alongside Suntarine Perkins can be an absolute nightmare for offensive line units trying to protect their quarterback and keep him upright. Purchase’s ability and efficiency in forcing pressure on Gunner Stockton may prove to be a difference maker in drives throughout this heavyweight boxing match in Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium.
