Senior center Jenna Staiti scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the University of Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team remain perfect in a 68-47 win against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Wednesday at Stegeman Coliseum.

In addition to Staiti, senior guard Gabby Connally had 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who now move to 5-0 this season. Staiti has scored in double figures in 13 of the last 14 games dating back to last year.

After going scoreless in the first 10 minutes, Jenna Staiti found her footing in the second frame to score 12 points. Her jumper with 1:07 remaining allowed Georgia to build a 41-22 lead going into halftime. The Lady Bulldogs held it down on the defensive end in the second quarter only allowing the Gamecocks to score eight points.

That defensive effort persisted coming out of the locker room as the Gamecocks could only come up with 11 points to end the third period. Gabby Connally hit three 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the second half to keep the game out of reach from Jacksonville State.

Both teams struggled finding the basket in the fourth quarter, with Georgia missing its first nine field goals. With 2:16 left in the game, Mikayla Coombs ended that scoring drought with a basket and the Lady Bulldogs coasted for their fifth win on the season.
