In a game that featured two delays because of lightning and was finally shortened because of it later on in the second half, the highly touted 5-star prospect of the recruiting class of 2015 made his debut for the Dawgs. For the day, Godwin had 3 receptions for 30 yards with a long of 20; which, when you consider Georgia only passed the ball 14 times, he received almost 25% of the targets. Godwin had good moments, but he also had a couple of “freshman” moments.
[su_spacer size=”40″] He talks about one of those “freshman” moments where he loses the ball after a catch on an apparent fumble; however, on a replay ruling, he was ruled down prior to the ball coming loose, and Georgia maintained possession.
[su_spacer size=”20″]

Coach said ‘you got to have better ball security.’ … It’s something I need to work on.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Godwin is asked if he was hurt on the play.
[su_spacer size=”20″]

No. I was just kind-a mad.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Godwin also said his teammates told him it was OK and they gave him advice to “let it go” and “just be better the next play.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Terry talked about his fellow freshman wide receivers and said they did good, which is what they all set out to do coming into Fall Camp, competing, and realizing they were going to be called on to play in the first game of the season. He stated he came in on the second play of the first offensive series for the Dawgs. When asked if he replaced Isaiah Mckenzie, he responded:
[su_spacer size=”20″]

Yes. It was a different formation.

[su_spacer size=”40″] If you watch the video, you cannot help but smile in return to Godwin’s big ‘ole smile as you can tell he is very happy to be playing for Georgia. In fact, that is the question that Bulldawg Illustrated’s Greg Poole asks him:
[su_spacer size=”20″] “Terry are you happy?”
[su_spacer size=”20″]

Yes sir.

[su_spacer size=”20″] “You look happy.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Patrick Garbin of Dawgtime also talked with Godwin about how it felt to be playing for the Georgia in his first college game:
[su_spacer size=”20″]

It feels great. It’s a dream come true.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Patrick Garbin probed Godwin on how he and his teammates felt about the game being called after the second lightning day:
[su_spacer size=”20″]

We really wanted to go back out there and play again just to finish out the game and work on things we need to work on.
