Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

  1. Six decades dawg

Would like to contend every year and win a natty on a frequent basis. Would like to establish / maintain a winning record against our major rivals. Would also like to be able to change my handle a couple of times—good Lord willing.

  2. Bulldawg36

I’m very nervous about the season. If we start out 1-4!!! I’m gonna be depressed!!!!

  3. dawgmum

Bulldawg36 I’d rather have our guys coming out mad with something to prove than having all the off-season accolades giving them false confidence. I think being thought of as the underdog is a good thing. We’ll show ’em!

  4. Bulldawg36

Well I’m mad as fire now, shouldn’t of never listen to the local sports station!!!! Walt deptula said they we are gonna start out 1-4. With losses to unc tenn Mizzou and ole miss. Said we won’t be able to run the ball on unc like Baylor did.. Because they spread u out and he called Art Briles a genius. Also said another reason we would struggle is cause he thinks Chubb won’t be at full force till mid season. Thinks it takes a while to get it back mentally. Walt makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any kid brave enough to walk around the Southwest side of Atlanta with a bright red head has my respect… My hair is different as well but maybe he needs to go back to purple until he gets to Athens…

RumRunnerDoogie Bulldawg36 Yep, at 50, I’d be real lucky to make it another 36 years waiting

  12. Bansai buckeroo

@RobG…. Rob, that store has been there at least 60 years that I know…. Famous for their smothered hamburgers and breakfast in the day…

  13. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bansai buckeroo Our shop is straight across the tracks from the Hapeville Chic-fil-a

  14. Bansai buckeroo

@Chief..The cooking process probably changed somewhere along the line with franchising. KFC was also much better when it first came out.

  15. MMCSDAWG

Bansai buckeroo That’s funny, i said the same thing a week or so ago.  They tasted better back when I was working there, i know the chicken breasts were bigger and I can’t believe they got rid of the Coleslaw!  They had the best Coleslaw.

  16. Bansai buckeroo

@ chief… My dad use to take me to the Dwarf House in Hapeville when I was a kid. This was before Chic Fil a….. They use to serve a great hamburger smothered with grilled onions. I’m not sure when they served their first chick Fil a. I had my first there in 1972. I remember them being even better than they are now….

MMCSDAWG BahitsDawg Greg Poole thats a boss who cares about those who works for him

  18. MMCSDAWG

BahitsDawg Greg Poole I worked for Chick-fil-A as a kid and was at one of the two stores where we trained all the prospective owner operators.  The Southlake store was ran by Bubba Cathy and the Shannon Mall by Dan Cathy.   One of the benefits of working at these two stores was being invited to Truitt’s place and riding 4-wheelers, horses, and the likes.  He would show up at the Shannon Mall store in overall’s.  He was a special man and I’ve always admired his commitment and conviction.
