AlphaDawg If the 12 pick is all they got then I don’t like the deal. Draft picks are almost worthless in the NBA unless they are high picks and even then you are destined to stink for several years before they can really contribute. The NBA draft has become like the MLB draft but worse since you can’t put them in the minor leagues for 3-5 years.

Reddawg13 DawgLink He is going to bust up some DLs and LBs this year and coming years. I remember the video posted last year from one of the UGA camps where he was destroying the tackle dummies. Much more powerful than the other OLs in the drill.

BahitsDawg MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg Believe me, I have had personal dealing with this type of situation and I too strongly believe in saving a kid and not throwing them out in the dumpster. The problem I have here is not what is being done, but how the DA justified the charges being dropped and the unfairness of this when compared to the other 300 million hard working and sweating people in our country. Playing football at Alabama, LSU or even UGA doesn’t make special or above the law, period! Like I said, pre-trial diversion, withheld adjudication, drug court and a laundry list of requirements to eventually reduce or expunge the charges. Again, I don’t want these kids ignored or not helped, I just don’t agree with the precedent or example that is being set. If my child or your child were in this exact situation, they would not be treated this way.

AlphaDawg Drug rehab implies that Hootie has had a few other incidents with the sticky stuff… Like I said earlier, that is fine and I appreciate Alabama’s efforts to help them, but you punish football players by making them miss football games! It is a unfair competitive advantage when “student” Athletes are treated differently with respect to playing time based on where they go to school. Wake up SEC/NCAA as the Senator says…. time to “Get the Picture”.

According to the documents, both players have had to undergo weekly urine tests, have had regular drug counseling, have monthly video appointments with a mental health consultant and have had to meet twice a week with a Tuscaloosa police officer for gun safety/ownership education.
They also both have had to complete 20 hours of community service.
In addition, Robinson has spent at least 26 hours riding along with the Northport Police Department while Jones had to spend 21 days in a drug rehab program, per the documents.
Playing time has not been decided.
