Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

converted 1981 I disliked the move when it first happened but looking back on the situation it was time, I think the attention to detail CKS has brought in is a big difference that I really like. I wish CMR luck until we play Miami. UGA very well may have hit the coach lottery with CKS, if he can coach half as good as he recruits the SEC better watch out!!

Ran into some UGA fans from Athens at EPCOT last night. She was still But hurt at letting CMR go. Come on people OPEN your eyes and See the differences Already. Yes CMR is a Great Man and at times Borderline Great Coach. His Fire for GEORGIA FOOTBALL was Gone. He was going through the motions and Not Fully buying in anymore. On the other hand CKS is the Fire that is Spreading All things GEORGIA right now and he is not just Football but ALL things GEORGIA.

Hobnailboot aka RobG There is also a time issue. Lawyer up and NCAA could make you lose a season waiting to get your day in court.
The key for these players is whether NCAA is going to allow them to leave as part of a sort of pre-punishment for Baylor. NCAA is not going to want to set a precedent of releasing kids from LOIs because a coach is fired or leaves.

Greg Poole Hobnailboot aka RobG I think I would lawyer up and be sure I got a release, but I have a unique family situation that would allow me to lawyer up

Hobnailboot aka RobG  Haven’t read the FSF piece but he has signed an LOI and that is the major hurdle. If he doesn’t get a release he has to sit and loses a year of eligibility.

Unless you were a “Rainbow Warrior”. That was an amazing display of “DD” that night.

Not without “Paying the Price”. Whatever it may be. Strange thing, usually when you “Freeze” something it has no smell but Olé Puss has had a Stench ever since he stepped on campus.

1mandawgpack Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg I am on call this weekend, and I know as soon as I get out there and hook into one I’ll get a call and have to leave, I’ll just catch up on yard work today and if it stays quiet I may go for a little while in the morning

You don’t go from irrelevant to a top 5 class in one year.

  10. 1mandawgpack

Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg  BTW, I’m surprised you’re not wetting a line this fine morning.

RobDawg  It’s hard to imagine that this comes as a complete shock to anyone.  Where there is smoke, there’s fire, and it shouldn’t have taken this long to figure out that OM wasn’t recruiting to the level that it was simply because of the academics and/or what the football program had to offer.  In all seriousness, after the penalties that the NCAA handed down to our program for ridiculously petty matters (Gurley, Green, the OL who had steroids present in his system from an operation in high school, etc.), I’m going to be outraged if it accepts OM’s self-imposed penalties and doesn’t make the consequences of their actions much more severe.

Especially love the week 11 pick.
A 5-4 Auburn team puts it all together and destroys UGA 52-7… At least they were nice enough to let the Dawgs convert the extra point. Butt hurt Auburn writer…

ZippyMorocco Yep. Death penalty would damage other Big12 school because of contact tie-ins. They will just make Baylor a bad team by reducing schollys

She is getting close to her course of treatment at Emory. The last report I had was that the treatment seems to be working.

There won’t be another death penaly, too much TV money involved. Probably lack of institutional control or failure to monitor.

  16. DawgLink

Agreed. After Penn State beat them, I would think that the NCAA would have blood to spill

  17. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole I am somewhat worried about the hurting part.  He needs to be in Athens.

  18. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole Thanks for looking Greg, I reread the article and did not see it either.

  19. DawgDaddy

Greg Poole I imagine part of that would depend if the kid had any “aid” with his finances while enrolled.  Just sayin’.
