TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECT: Jaleel McRae

Jaleel McRae is a four-star outside linebacker who plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. McRae is 6-2 230 pounds and ranks as the No. 7 outside linebacker and the No. 15 prospect in Florida. He holds 13 offers including ones from Florida, Georgia Tech, etc.  Georgia offered him on February 14, 2018. He recently visited Athens on March 3rd  on an unofficial visit. The Bulldogs are right in the mix of things for this linebacker and he says he plans on visiting again. McRae plans on enrolling early wherever he decides to go to college.

I spoke with McRae about his recruiting and his visit to Georgia.

Jaleel McRae Interview:

Q: How has the recruiting process been for you?

A: “It’s been great. I’m justing taking it slow and trusting in the process.”

Q: Have you decided on any official or unofficial visits?

A: “I’ll be taking a visit to Florida State April 14 for the spring game. Then I’m expecting to get back to Georgia sometime in the summer.”

Q: How did your last visit to Georgia go?

A: “My visit to Georgia was great! I loved the coaches and everything. I feel like I can go to Georgia. I’ll be surrounded by a lot of coaches that love the players.”

Q: What do you think of Kirby Smart?

A: “I can tell he’s real big on academics. He will forever be there for his players. That’s one of the main things I love about him.”

Q: So what are some things the coaches at Georiga tell you?

A: “They want me to play outside linebacker, and rushing the edge. I love doing both of those things so that’s why I’m interested.”

Q: What are some key factors that will go into your final decision?

A: “Whenever I go on my official visits that will decide what school I go to. I really want to go to a school where I feel like I can live there after football.”

Q: Have you decided when you’ll make your decision?

A: “I will make my decision late November or early December back at home with my family and community can come out and watch.”

Q: Do you plan on early enrolling or waiting till summer?

A: “Yes, I will be enrolling early.”

Q: Do you have any top schools yet? A leader maybe?

A: “No ma’am I do not.”

Q: What are you looking the most forward to for your senior year of football?

A: “Getting to grow as a man over here at IMG and be a better football player and keeping the winning streak alive over here.”

Q: So are any of Georgia’s current commits talking to you about Georgia? If they are who is it and are you close to any of them?

A: “Nolan Smith, he talks to me every day about coming to Georgia with him. He’s one of my good friends over here at IMG.”
