ATHENS, Ga. — Nine Georgia swimmers were listed on the official NCAA Championships men’s psych sheet released on Wednesday.

The NCAAs will take place March 21-24 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. The Bulldogs have placed in the top 10 at the NCAAs nine times in the past 10 seasons.

Seniors Gunnar Bentz and Jay Litherland; juniors Aidan Burns and James Guest; sophomores Javier Acevedo, Clayton Forde and Walker Higgins; and freshmen Camden Murphy and Youssef Said were among the 235 swimmers invited on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs have the option to add relay-only alternates as well. Georgia earned bids for the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the 200 and 400 medley relays. A swimmer may compete on four relays at the NCAAs.

Acevedo, Bentz, Guest, Higgins and Murphy were invited in two events apiece. Acevedo is fifth in the nation in the 100 backstroke, while Litherland is No. 7 in the 400 individual medley and Bentz is No. 8 in the 200 butterfly.

California leads the field with 17 swimmers, followed by Stanford and Texas 15 each, Michigan with 14, Florida with 13, North Carolina State with 12 and Virginia with 10.

The Lady Bulldogs will compete in their NCAAs next Wednesday through Saturday at Ohio State. Georgia has had at least one male or female individual or relay win an NCAA title each year starting with 1995.
