201 EXTRA POINTS FOR PEYTON WOODRING
Peyton Woodring broke the UGA and SEC record for the longest consecutive streak of successful extra points with 201 on Saturday against Oklahoma. The previous record was held by former beloved UGA kicker, Rodrigo “Hot Rod” Blankenship. Woodring has solidified himself as one of the most reliable kickers in college football right now. Woodring also made two field goals over 45 yards against Oklahoma.
4 STRAIGHT 40-POINT GAMES
For the first time since 2018, the Dawgs have scored over 40 points in their four opening games. Despite almost half the points coming from the defense, the Dawgs’ offense still had a very successful SEC home opener.
2 FUMBLE RECOVERIES FOR CHRIS COLE
This season has allowed linebacker Chris Cole to shine. After John Mateer fumbled a mid-pass, Cole recovered and returned it for an 85-yard touchdown. He also recovered a forced fumble by Raylen Wilson. Cole was second to Wilson in total tackles against the Sooners as well. Cole has been key in bringing back the standard of excellence of Georgia’s defense, and if he continues with this dominance, Dawg fans can expect to see that excellence through the postseason.
11 TOTAL TACKLES FOR RAYLEN WILSON
Alongside one forced fumble and a sack against Oklahoma, Raylen Wilson continuously pressured runs and had the Sooners scrambling. Wilson is in his final season with the Dawgs and is not taking it for granted. He has become a veteran in the linebacker room and shows his experience on the line and in the backfield.

Georgia’s defense accounted for almost half of the Dawgs’ points Saturday. With Cole’s scoop-and-score, KJ Bolden’s interception, Wilson’s forced fumble and Rasean Dinkin’s fumble recovery, the defense exhibited their dominance.

Sanford Stadium is a hard place to play at, especially with a sold-out sea of red, black and white. With Oklahoma opening SEC home play for the Dawgs, the atmosphere was key to making it an impossible place for the Sooners to succeed. Head coach Kirby Smart always gives credit to the fans for showing up and selling out the stadium when it matters, and this game was no different.
